Ammonia binder recommendations

I attempted posting this in the Reef Fishes forum, but got no love. Figured I'd try here:

Which ammonia binder/eradicator would you recommend for a QT? I'll be setting up a 55 gallon QT with an established sponge filter, but want to have something on hand in case I get a ammonia showing up in the tank. (Basically for emergency purposes)

I'm specifically looking for something that won't affect the bacteria on the sponge filter, and will actually allow them to reproduce so they can eventually handle the bioload.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this fits what you are looking for, but how about bio-pad? I think that's what it is called.

I would run carbon in the QT in the event of/to prevent ammonia. if your lookng for an additive, I have tried ammo lock a couple times several years ago, and it worked fine.

I have an extra HOB fiter laying around here you are welcome to.
i used it just to run carbin by filling a micron filter bag with carbon and sticking it in the fitlter and wallah!!!

Thanks guys.

Again, I'm planning on having the biofiltration established, but want to be prepared in case of an emergency.

I use carbon on the qt except when medicating of course and keep ammo lock on hand.
