Amphiprion nigripes - Rose Skunk Clown

phil, would you say the reason they die at the wholesalers is due to brooklynella or a flurry of other ailments?

They crash for some crazy reasons. One day everyone looks great. They eat and a bobbing away in the normal manner. You come in the next day and half are dead and the rest have sores and are laying on the ground.

I used to sell them but they just don't ship well or last too long without a ton of attention. One of the best ones I had, got sick day one and then ended up pulling through. About 1/4 of its side was a sore. The thing was about 3/4" and bit me every time I put my hand it the 40 gal tank it was in.

It healed and then went on its way to some clownfish nutt. He now posts pictures of it on RC and poeple say it looks like it is on crack!:eek1:

Please don't pm me. I don't get them anymore!

If I could ever find the magic cure for them I would start keeping them. They are awesome clowns.

I can't really say, because I didn't ask. I know that in most cases, even though the clowns are on their price list and they will sell them, for the first couple days they keep them off the main floor in a treatment area in the back. They don't put them out until they have gone though their treatment process and are looking healthy. At this particular wholesaler, it is very unusual to see any sick fish on the main floor, so its hard for me to have any idea as to what maladies might be the problem.

Well he is finally venturing into one of the RBTA. During the daytime he still chills in his cave, but I caught him last night sleeping in the outer reaches of the anemone, just kinda floating and touching it. Today he has gona over to it and looked at it, floating about an inch away, but he's not digging into it like my percs in it's clone.

Soon people soon, just wait and I will post in the forsale forum when they are large enough :0 :) F1

I have access to a small wild caught single who has been in captivity for 2 months now, the others he came in with died. He had ich but got over it. Captive breed are always more stable then thoose wild caughts, by the way make sure you QT that little beauty, almost every gripes comes with ich. Dont fart or make any sudden movements in front of the tank kinda of joking but they are skittish little buggers who dont do well with stress or acclimation. My female and male both still run to the back of the tank when ever i open the canopy to feed them. My self and a friend had 6 die on us before I got 2 good stable who are now breeding. My buddy who owns a shop doesnt really buy them anymore because he loosed to much money on them. Cheers and good luck.

Do you have any available for pick up next week? I am going to be in norcal, and I really want to pick up a second to try to pair with mine. Either some CB babies or a young wc. I would be happy buying some very young babies, as long as they are eating frozen food like cyclopeeze. I have a 29 gal reef with nothing but a yasha goby, pistol shrimp, and fire shrimp that I would use as a QT, so I would be fine getting a few of them and trying to sell them once they are large enough.
