Just changed replaced it with the Eheim on Sunday. If the rust does have something to do with it...how can I stop this in it's tracks before I lose anything else? Haven't slept tonight staring at the tank trying to figure this out. I hate asking stupid redundant questions and usually read/research, but I'm really at a loss here. My daughter who's 11 walked in my room last night and told me my DT looks like crap...which added to my frustration. Some of my SPS still look great. Milli's still showing lots of P.E. Red planet looks amazing, Setosa looks amazing, etc. I've put too much time/effort/tlc into this system for this crap to be happening.

Nice. I'm planning on upgrading to the profilux controller and 2 GHL dosers. One of the dosers will be used in my mini fridge for my continuous feeder. I ran the return line for the NPS/macro tank through it with a venturi and the food will no longer be exposed to air to improve on freshness/quality of foods. Got the idea from some NPS keepers on how to improve my feeder setup.

Yeah...that sounds like too much even for me. My system has been on autopilot other than routine maintenance. I just wish I could figure out what's going on with my SPS. It's humiliating.

A friend of mine thinks I'm losing these pieces because the pieces I've lost were maricultured...not sure why he thinks that has something to do with it. They're the only ones that I've lost. Added 8 SPS frags purchased from a local reefer and those are all fine. As stated previously...I dip, drip acclimate, match salinity and PH before adding to tank.


Hopefully I'll get some more info from others as well on this. Maybe there's something I'm missing.

Haven't bothered to test for these because from what I understand neither tests are very accurate no matter the brand of kit.

I live in NYC and there are an insane amount of local reefers...a lot of which are SPS keepers...I doubt it has anything to do with that.
