I know not everyone is a fan of them, but I love my MP10's on my 40B and will definitely be adding 2 or 3 MP40's to the 180. Going to take a step back from the upgrade for a while and maybe just start planning/building the stand.

Aussie spider sponge from Coral Theory...2 weeks in the system with the continuous feeder. The polyps were swaying in the flow so it was impossible to get a clear shot....guess I should have shut the pumps off...lol

Ordered a frag pack of the following from a local reefer and will be giving them a week or two to heal before I pick them up...

Red table
Tyree rainbow stylo
Ora green stylo
Tubs purple tip stellatta
Apple sour birdnest
Jesus stag
Grape juice acro
Atl forest digi

Green Eyes, your tank is looking real good and seems to be coming together.

Love that sponge.
I had a tiny sponge and now it is about 10" across and is taking over my tank, but I like it and can easily cut off pieces.

Greeneyes, sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences.
And as usual your setup looks fantastic. Thanks for the pics and inspiration.

Thank you, Paul! I'm in love with it too...I keep checking it out. I hear they're really hard to keep alive and am very eager to see whether or not my feeder will keep it alive long term.

Wow...that sponge is huge...I bet it looks amazing in person too.

Thank you and thank you. My SPS are still recovering from that d@mn alk swing and pump failure. Some friend's have asked to come by and take real pics of the tank with a real camera, but I want everything nursed back to health first.

Oh man...I misbehaved VERY badly last night. Ran into a reefer buddy last night and we went over to my fav. local lfs. I ended up with 8 SPS frags they hand picked and an acan frag. o.O I also got 2 black clowns to host the nems in the macro tank and a baby firefish to replace the one that carpet surfed from my son's old tank last year. I really was not planning that, but d@mn they had some pieces that I just could not pass up.

Yeah, just a plain basic run of the mill firefish that he balled his little eyes out over. I let him chose which tank to put it in and he sat in front of the tanks last night for about 5 full minutes looking back and fourth between the tanks before he decided. "That one." While pointing at the 40. He sat verbally debating aloud the differences between the tanks, which tank he'd be happier in and which he'd look better in. It may sound lame, but I love my kids with my whole being. His little face just lit up over this fish last night. He's only 10.

This is the acan I bought a 1 head frag of...

Peppermint Sour Acan

That acan is fantastic, I don't have any and I'm jealous

Thanks Paul...Coral Theory has an entire tank filled with gorgeous lps and even though I'm obsessed with SPS and NPS...I "HAD" to add these guys to my collection.

I also got one of these rainbow skittles acans from them recently...

Tank looks outstanding!

Thank you! :)

Dropped by my lfs this afternoon and snatched up a gorgeous sun coral mini colony and a frag of another gorgeous acan.

They have an adorable tiny baby spotted mandarin that I keep looking at, but I already have a huge male green mandy. Not sure on how to sex the spotted mandarins and whether or not it'd be ok to add it in with my male if it was a female. My green mandarin is nice and fat and in the macro/nps tank.

Going to pick up a decent size squamosa clam and a dendro frag from a reefer buddy. Can't wait.

Here's pics of the clam and it's cell pics so they're not that great, but d@mn it's gorgeous. Super excited and it will look gorgeous in the 180 when it happens...

Having some issues with the system and can't put my finger on what is going on. Mag 12 rusted...just replaced with Eheim 1262...a little less powerful but still able to run my system with manifold. Upgraded tiny fridge for continuous feeder to a real dorm size fridge which is T'd into manifold/return to run straight to NPS/Macro tank without having to go into sump or through return. Params are all within the norm. 15g weekly water changes was using I.O. and switched to RC last WC.

Salinity with refracto. calibrated with solution not RO: 1.025
ATO running smoothly
Salifert test kits
Ca 440
Alk 7
Mg 1350
PO4 .09 w/ Hanna checker (with continuous feeder running and Sat. water change coming...not bad imho)
heaters unplugged for the summer/temp steady at 77.5*F (RKL itemp probe/fan on controller)
Skimmer running continuously (obviously)
GFO/GAC changed out faithfully on the first of the month
PH usually between 8.2/8.3

No pests...SPS suffering STN. Out of Nitrate test kits, have to order more. Any ideas? I vacuum detritus out of sump during WC's. When I have to dose Alk it's dosed slowly through the doser into the return section of the sump and not just dumped in at once. System was using 34ml of Alk per day...Ca only usually had to dose once per week and it stays at a steady 440 and Mg obviously only when it drops...

P*ssed and really need some advice...lost a few of my favorite pieces. Please advise me on how to figure out what is going on. Sorry for rambling...just aggravated, exhausted and trying to give all major details. Also, all coral is drip acclimated and gets CoralRX dip and rinsed in small bucked of tank water before entering system.

Also, I've never chased PH. I forgot to mention all RODI cartridges very recently replaced, Di, RO membrane and added on BRS 150gpd upgrade kit... 0 TDS. Membranes were flushed for an hour before first use.

Haven't ripped the mag 12 apart to see exactly how much rust has occurred, but I have a feeling this has something to do with it.
