these would be better on my wallet but i still would like them to be goof for corals. would these supply enough corals?

Link doesn't work. Here are some lights I found just looking through the first 2 pages of the Dry goods selling section:

When on a budget I'd rather get high quality used equipment instead of spending the same money for a new lower quality product.

i want to be able to hold most soft corals. so let me know if those ebay ones will work or if the marine depot ones will work

or would these work too?
I don't see a huge problem with this one. It has T5 with individual reflectors. If you have a 24 inch deep tank than this do ok. Your higher light demanding corals will probably have to go to the middle or higher sections of your tank though. Just my opinion.

But take that advice, browse the dry goods section here on RC. TONS of good lights for cheap, just wait for the right light for you.

well i think im going to go with the ebay ones just a little cheaper and has a warranty. would would you suggest the other ones on petmountain? either way there more affordable and i will also be buying 135lbs live rock to start out. which will be ordered today or tomorrow off of drs foster and smith. but for my sump/fuge i will have a 20 and 29 gallon for those should i have a seperate return for my fuge? say like only 200gph? and then have like a 1000-1200 for my sump? how does that sound?

ok thanks alot. im stopping at one local pet store to see there prices today one that just opened. so either i will be getting most my stuff from there or i will come back home and order it today. need my lights and live rock.

one other thing do i need to buy live sand? will normal sand turn to live sand?

whats a good way to fill the tank with an ro/di system?

Yes, regular sand will turn into live sand in a matter of weeks.

I use argonite. It was the same price for a 40lbs bag of argonite vs a 20lbs bag of live sand. I had no idea how long the live sand had been sitting there or how hot/cold it had gotten since it was bagged up.

I'd assume the best way to use an RO/DI to fill the tank would be to run the line to the tank & let it run. Either keep an eye on it or make sure you have a float valve to stop it when it gets full.

You can really stretch your dollar by just getting a good sand and not fully cured rock. Your cycle will take longer but you will be able to fill your tank with much more sand and rock that will turn live. It could take a couple months to finish though. But let your money work for you! Time is easy to let go by with a tank, plus cool stuff comes on not fully cured rock.

I'll 2nd that. My girlfriend couldn't understand how I could come home from work & stare into a tank full of water & rocks. There's just so much cool stuff going on.

Ha thanks guys well there's a few people around the area who are selling live rock. So I waiting to see if I can get it. Its cured already and nice and purple. And I orderd a 72 inch compact florecent light fixire with bulbs 12k with the atinics. 384 watts I think 4. 96 watt bulbs with lunar. For 270! And am ordering everything else I need today. And drilling the tank.
