Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

Wow, that's a big tank. Where is the tank located in your home? Is humidity ever an issue with that much water and surface area?

jlombardi29 - love to! I love this stuff, any size tank is cool with me!

jmsalt1 - it's in the walk out basement...yes I open the windows every day to let fresh air blow through

I'm not proud of the cyano but wanted to show some of the acros on the reef...

That's funny, I have some of Travis's frags in my tank from the last swap! Your right his system is sweet too. What impresses me the most about your set up is the ability to remove the fish you've put in there so easily. I don't even think about pulling anything out of my seven footer, its in there for life.

jmsalt1 - I talked to Trav today and he totally thinks you are a stud! Oh and he loves your tank too! Once the corals grow in it will be harder to pull out the fish but I plan on leaving the open space on the right side of the tank so I can still use the fish fence in the future if needed...

GOSKN5 - thanks for recognizing the diversity! I am aiming for a ton of color, shapes, sizes and movement as the tank matures

BYU vs. Notre Dame Football Game

BYU vs. Notre Dame Football Game

So last week I met my brother in Chicago and headed out to the BYU vs. Notre Dame football game in South Bend, Indiana.

You know in between the game and the other things we had planned we made time for some fish action. Here are some highlights from the local store visits:

Trav's Awesome System

Trav's Awesome System

My brother and I shared a room growing up and we each had aquariums on our dressers. Our tanks grew over the years and so did our budgets. Here is a quick look at my brothers set up in Indiana.

Time to build out the frag/quarantine tanks in the fish room

Time to build out the frag/quarantine tanks in the fish room

I decided to roll with two 45 gallon Marineland cubes for a quarantine and frag tanks due to space constraints in the fish room. 24"x24"x18" are the dimensions on each tank. Here is a pic of the tanks...
