Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

Thanks Dan! I'm excited to see the progress as well!

I have 3 purples, 4 yellows, and a scopas in the zebrasoma family...(I had 2 yellows get beat up and died, crazy!) I have three sm/md yellows in quarantine right now too...

One of my purples also terrorized 3 different yellow tangs when I put them in, chewing their fins like crazy. I was able to remove them and put them back in QT for awhile. I'l be trying again in a few weeks. Nothing like torturing yellow tangs.

Check out all the offspring...the white one to the left of the large one is the most recent addition

I have the same exact plate that was a stowaway on a zoa rock. Started as a tiny head now 5 months later its about 2.5" round. Was there a name for it other than a common plate coral? Do you remember about how much it was if you don't mind me asking.. Just curious about it as its the second best free coral I've ever got as a stowaway. First was a pink and green favia I've had for about 5 years. Awesome video update as usual.

Wow is all I can add. I just wanted to congratulate you on an amazing build and subscribe to this thread just so I can catch all the updates. When my wallet grows up I want it to be just like yours lol. Happy New Years

Yes, these zebrasomas are crazy fighters... Mine seem to always chase each other right before the lights go out...:mad2:

I'll be anxious to see how your second deployment of yellows goes...maybe try a fish acclimation box? Or three!

This guy came in as a stowaway as well. There have been 5 - 6 offspring that have developed on his same rock over the past year...not sure of a name for him specifically but I have seen similar ones sell locally here for $35-40. Thanks for the question and for checking out our build! I would love to see a picture of your first favorite coral!

Thank you for your kind words! It's been a fun ride with still plenty of cool stuff ahead. Happy New Year to you too!

Yes the camera is hooked up to the apex but mainly for controllability. I use the "Live Cams Pro" app on my phone to record and snap pics...
