Anemone and Salt Brands

Just trying to get a rough idea on what others are using. I am down to my last two boxes of salt and was just weighing my options.

What salt brand do you use with your anemones?

I was redoing the post. I messed up in the middle of it. I think you replied the same time I was editing it and then just made a new one because of it.

I use two types of salt. I use Red Sea Coral Pro in my DT and I use Instant Ocean for my QT's. Why use the expensive salt in QT's is my thinking.

Purple, standard instant ocean. I've had many nems, sps, etc.

I have a small system so I'm able to to small weekly wc with either Nurtisea or the Petco ready made sw. My SPS and nems seem to be happy. With a system as large as yours I know it isn't practical.

I still find it cheaper making my own instead of getting the ready made stuff from the LFS.

Oh it's definitely cheaper it's just more convenient for me. Trust me if I had a large system I would definitely make my own.

The best reef keeper that I know personally has always used the good old basic Instant Ocean, so that's what I use as well.

IO for me

Over the years it's mainly been IO or RC, and I tried red sea and D&D, never really noticed any sort of difference as my nems go, but since RC is slightly higher in CA and mag I have been using only that for probably about 15 years now, and that is mainly for sps more so than anything special for nems.

I think stability is actually more important, so I don't switch around on brands, and I buy bulk 200g boxes because lot batches will have some variation regardless of brand type.

IO - I think premîum salt mixes only seem like a good idea.

Same it's cheap and works really well with my gigs and mags I even sometimes use the regular purple insta too

I run RC also, thinking about making my own though, have no issues with RC though, just to save money

Good results so far. 21 people voted. Top: 8 using IO orange and 6 using IO purple.

Not that I was looking at changing, I am just trying to get a good view of what others are using.
