Anemone emergency

I had an H. magnifica make it into a strainer for closed loop system on my 475 DT TWICE in one year.....both times it was sucked in as far as it's foot - but I just shut off the reeflo baracudda pump and over about 12 hours it'd extract itself - but it'd have a kinda mangeled "franken-anemone" look afterwords.

Pictures are before (behind & left of the BTA) 12" diameter/stuck in strainer/afterwords about a week. It took 6 months for it to gorw back to 12" dia......then it did it again. It had to slither thru tiny cracks to get to the strainer....after the 2nd time it was worse - and looked really bad after - but it was recovering....I gave it away tp a friend.

Well he is healed up in the Hospital tank. I had to bottow some t5 lighing because that cheap marine land 20 gallon tank hood wasnt doing the trick. He lost most of his color. I am gonna leave him in there for a couple more months as I dont need him bouncing around knocking frags off the shelves...

hope all turns for the best..

broke down my 90 nd transfered sand nd live rock to 40 breeder w an S. Haddoni..

went into the tank in his prime nd woke up the next morning w him stuck in a Koralia 4..

he wasnt so lucky..

altho noob mistake on my half for transfering him to a new tank...

kinda happy he was gone cuz he took out a bunch of my poor lil fishie friends..

x_x

So he is well planted, healed up and eating in the hospital tank... However he is about 1/4 the size he was when I got him... I won't be putting him back in the DT until I return from my two week trip...i am imagining putting him back in that evnironment will be good for him...

Sure, two days before I leave on my trip he did it again... This time he did not get all sliced up....so I am a bit more optomistic... Same as last time. Planted for weeks and all of a sudden, he don't like it and moves....

LTA do not move from the sand bed unless he is not happy about something. I would concentrate on that and see if you can correct it.

I kind of figured that.... I just find it funny that when he is all heeled up he goes and does it again... I let him go where he wants too...

So back in the DT for two weeks now.... He is still one third his original size and is now light blue.....he is eating.... I put those filters on my two mp10s so he can't get sucked in....

So 7 months later he decided to go for a walk again. He is now the size of a quarter.... He keeps shrinking... He started the size of a soft ball... So he is gonna live out his life inky QT system....
