Anemone health check

Hey guys. The first Anemone that my buddy got melted in a few days. He took it back to the LFS and they gave him this one instead. This one looks 1000 times better the one he originally had that was all bleached. How does this one look health wise? Is it ok that his mouth is open? He seems to always have a tentacle in his mouth if that makes sense (you can see it in the picture). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Ok can you give me some info on the tank and setup? Lights, how long been setup, conditions. This will help us the anemone looks ok the mouth being open is not a great sign but could just be getting use to the system. Did he drip acclimate the anemone?

The anemone has been in the tank for about 4 days now. He was drip acclimated. It's a 10 gallon tank with 54 watts of T5 lighting. The tank has been up for about 7 months now. Everything is stable parameter wise. The only inhabitants to the tank are 2 ocellaris clowns, the nem, snails, 1 pep shrimp, 1 emerald and other hermits.

Just an FYI, I just fed the tank mysis and specifically watched the nem. He grabbed about 2 pieces from the flow around him and fed himself.

Ok I know BTA can handle lower light better than some but in a 10 gallon tank I think that should be fine the amount of time it is in the tank, it is still adjusting to everything I have had my rose BTA for a while and it has split several times so just keep an eye on it and let it adjust for now I would not feed it until it has fully come custom to your tank.

I am not familiar with BTA's, but I have Mags, Gigs, an LTA and Haddoni's. Slightly open mouth as long as it is tight looking (as if it could close if it wanted to) from my experience means it's just acclimating to your tank. A gaping mouth, very loose looking on the other hand is a sign of high stress or infection, usually the latter of the two.

Turn for the worse?

Well guys after the weekend and the nem looking like the first two pictures, he now looks like this. There is also like brown slime on the rock right by him. Is he still ok since he doesn't have a wide open mouth?

he's not liking something about that tank, unfortunately. Probalby would do better if you could hook up a refugium and have some caulerpa growing in it. Like a CPR fuge would be great.
