I have a beautiful bubble tip but during a water change yeaterday the rock that it was attached to fell and tore a pice of its foot right off. I don't know what to do, the anemone looks ok but it doesn't open all the way. The part where the foot was ripped doesn't look so hot. any suggestions, will it grow back or is there something I should do? Please help...pics to follow.

try doing another water change in a day or two (depending if you already have more water made)

keep your water perimeters VERY good.

btas are pretty resilient, and its very possible it'll be ok. Is it only the foot that ripped?

Pictures will be helpful. just keep everything super stable for the time being. Are theyre clowns hosting in it?

My Brother while over seas in the Navy had his bta get caught in a powerhead and lost almost half of the Anem. His wife kept the tank Params perfect, the Anem found a quiet place to hide and approx 3 months later the Anem is almost fully healed. Good luck I hope he pulls through

I have a pair of trues but so far they haven't hosted it, which might be to me favor right now im not sure. Yea just the foot tore, it looks in good share but the bulbs near the area of the foot that tore don't "inflate". I want to post pics but RC tells me that they are to large, anhy word on how to shrink?

go to photobucket.com sign up for free and upload them there. they'll shrink em if theyre to big. then theyll provide you with a code needed to just cut and paste it here.

It sounds like it should make it. Ive heard plenty of powerhead stories and they make it.

If you can see near the top of the anemone all the bulbs are kinda shriveled and intraverted. Will the foot come back, what does the foot actually do for the anemone, it seems like when the lights are off it curls into itself, what else? Thanks everyone for your help it is really special!

your anemone is bleached and will need some care to ge it better
what light do you have over your tank

the foot should heal quickly these guys rip themselves in half to split
but i am concerned about your nem getting what it needs

what looks bleached? the foot or the bulbs or what.....if my clowns host it will it help it and if so how can I get my clowns to discover their "should be" home

The anemone should have a darker, more opaque color to it. That is because to get food from the light they need zooanthelle in their tissues which is a brownish color. "bleached" just means that there isn't the normal amount of zooanthelle in the anemone. They can live like this, but can only get their food from eating meaty stuff like mysis and silversides. If you feed it well it should grow and with enough light it will likely get back its healthy color.
