Anemone ID

I was wondering if you could help me,

I purchased this Anemone, and the LFS was not really sure what it was. Can you tell me what you think it is and why, what is the best way to tell the different species apart? I cannot find info on how to tell them apart - aside from the obvious, Curly Que, carpet etc. He is in a tank by himself, we think it is a Condy, but no purple tips.

Thank you,

Craig

My guess would be Green Bubble Tip (gbta) anemone just because I purchased one before that looked exactly like this. The tips don't always bubble up and this one looks a little bleached...with good lighting it will color up soon. The mouth is tight which is a great sign. Also they like to hide their foot in the rocks just like yours.

Thanks for the replys,

Phender, the foot is orangish, not a strong colour as other Condys I have seen.

It is not unusual for a condy's red foot to fade to orange during shipping or sometimes when its been in a LFS tank for a while.

The orange/red foot solidifies the condy ID for me.

Thanks,

So are there any other distinguishing features between a BTA and a condy besides the bright foot and bubble tips?

I was going to get another Condy for the same tank, but what have been people's experiences with mixing species(or ocean of origin)? I have seen both sides stated quite matter of factly that they can be mixed or can't.

Or in the same system, this tank is linked up with another, can I put a different species in a different aquarium sharing a filter system?

Thanks again,

Craig
