anemone questions

so I tried to open the anemone FAQ but my computer kept saying that it had a virus and would not let me so I will try this way.
I have an anemone that was identified as a Warty Anemone or Gulf Warty Anemone and I really do not know what all it needs to stay healthy. It came out of a rock that was collected and we had no clue that it was even there. So for the questions portion of this:

1) what should I feed it? It has been living on a diet of Mysis shrimp but it seems to be getting bored with it.

2) how often should it be fed? I am currently feeding once a day in the early evening hours around 6:30-7ish

3) temperatures? the tank has been maintaining around 76-78 degrees

4) anything else that I didn't know to ask but should have

Thanks.

1) what should I feed it? It has been living on a diet of Mysis shrimp but it seems to be getting bored with it.

I personally feed live black worms and Omega flakes to my nems. A lot of people use krill. Silversides are avoided by a lot due to possible spoilage prior to freezing, but some people still have success. I have read frozen mysis may be nutritiously poor.

2) how often should it be fed? I am currently feeding once a day in the early evening hours around 6:30-7ish

Different prople try different things. With my BTA and carpets I am around 3x/week. I am not familiar with warty anemone. Most nems do not require daily feedings.

3) temperatures? the tank has been maintaining around 76-78 degrees

Seems reasonable

4) anything else that I didn't know to ask but should have

Once again I am not familiar with warty anemone, but exposed power heads seem to be a problem for a lot of nems that wonder.

As I didn't see any responses I figure I provide the limited knowledge that I have.

I tried feeding leftover bait that we had (it was kept fresh on ice and frozen in portion cups within a hour of dying in the bait buckets; the batteries on my bubbler died) But it spit out both gulf shrimp and mud minnows. It eats the Mysis great but I wasn't sure what else it needed. The anemone only came out after I moved the rock into the flow of water, where it had a nice strong current. Like I said I didn't even know it was there, so I found it by a fluke. So far it has not messed with my Ocellaris although it did get into it with my hermit crab...but in its defense the hermit started it..lol..

It funny my blue carpet would move if I feed krill it was like clock work the next day it would be in a different spot. So I stuck with scallops and shrimp.

What happens if you overfeed an anemone? Or can you over feed one?

You can't really overfeed an anemone. It will instinctively hold onto a prey item, but if its not hungry, it'll just release it.

The bigger problem with overfeeding is the negative affect it has on water quality. This is also the reason I don't suggest feeding very often. Anemones are fine with just light and occasional feedings, but admittedly I've started feeding mine about once a week, since I want it to grow.

ok so I do light or small meals and as varied a diet as it will eat.. does anyone know where I might find more info on these? I haven't really found anything on the internet about them

If you copy and paste the photobucket address in my signature it will take you to an album with current pics of the anemone in question I have been out of power since around 3 this afternoon and now it is almost 11 pm. Grrrrr

it normally doesn't come out of the rock like that... it was the first time I had seen it do that so I got pics of it like that while I could. I think if you click the pics it will take you to my photo bucket album where there are more pics of it.
