Anemone size

I'm contemplating adding a clown and nem to my system again, I just don't have a ton of nem space and mine have always grown so quickly in the past.

I'm partial to GSM and Onyx... is there any nem that either would host and not gain 6 inches in 6 months?

What size tank do you have, and how much room is available?

As for one that would not gain 6" in 6 months -- really no way to answer that -- too many variables; beginning size of said anemone (( would expect a 6" S. Haddoni to gain 6" in 6 months, but not a 24" inch one )), what lights you have, what and how often it is fed.

I used to have a condi... it got pretty big. 8 inch tentacles. I dont have it anymore since it grew out and so did the clowns.

I have a 24 gal cube and am looking for a nem that doesnt span more than about 6 inches.

Look into Actinia Equina. They are small. They require daily feeding because they aren't photosynthetic, and nothing will adopt them, AND they like cool water. BUT I have some that are bearing it out in a tank at 78 degrees and they never get over 6 inches, period. Or, there's the Mini Maxi Carpet Anemone, although again, nothing hosts with them in nature. Care is similar to any other anemone, but it stays small too.

To be fair, any anemone under 10" would likely be abused by a full grown clown fish. Any under 6" would possibly be "loved to death".

If you want a hosting anemone, then you are out of luck -- none will stay the size that you want. Plus, if there was one that would stay at 6" there is a good chance that a pair of clowns would "love" it to death.

Well, I want a hoster... I guess I just won't get a clown. Last one I had before I got a nem hosted, open brain, hammer and candy.
