Anenome spit out food?

I fed my Condy last night with a piece of raw clam from a frozen food bag.

It was about a half inch piece.

I found it at the base of the nem this morning as though he spit it out.

What would cause it to spit out food? Is there a specific diet it ONLY eats?

Its been eating shrimp and whatever is in the Red Rods Food mix zip lock.

I feed every 2 - 3 days something small

maybe you fed it too much. When my anemones eat too much or too big of a piece, they would spit it out the next day..

It could be too big, as m0nkie suggested or the type of food could be wrong. Certain foods elicit responses and others don't. Generally, if the food is regurgitated like that, excluding particle size, it is not the preferred type of food. If the anemone is already accepting crustacean-based meats, then stick with that.

it may have been too big for it.

i will stop with the clam and keep with the Rods foods it was accepting.
