Another 225 Tank Project!

I have been working to much to do anything on my stand. This weekend I would like to finish it off. I am still waiting for my surges, sump, and tank.....I is turning in to an abuse problem...I need my tank man!!...I need it bad man!!! Any how, I will try to get some pics up soon...Believe me I want more pics too. means Im getting closer to being done.

LOL - abuse NO but problem yes :D

i know how you feel i have a 58gal RR oceanic sitting in my parent basement with 99% of the plumbing stuff ready to get glued up....but i dont' have the pump free to put in the return line yet (this weekend) and the closed loop pump just got ordered.

I've hung out long enough, so it's time for me to say your work and the cleanliness of the installation is awe inspiring.

04/05/04 - Sand / Water: The main plumbing has been assembled. I have been running water through the RO/DI for 2 day now, Ive got about half of it made. I added 320 lbs of purearagonite sand, I also installed black eggcrate to help hold the aquascape up. Skimmers and Ca reactor are in but not hooked up. Im still waiting on a couple of power strips so that I can finish the electrical panel, should be here by the 8th.

Very Cool! I may be pinging you soon on how you make these monsters somewhat quiet - I have a jacuzzi going in my living room right now - I told my wife it was because I am only testing with tap water  to buy some time to make adjustments.

Love your work though. I notice that you always have the drill in each set of pictures? Being sponsored? Product Placement?:p

Thanks Everyone - Hopefully I will ha ve enough water by tonight to start the circulation.

If you look at my RO/ filter you will see that it has turned brown in the last 2 days. I have new filters on the way.

That's funny...I saw the drill and wondered originally.

Product placement LOL

Most of us should be sponsored by Bud :D

Ummm....Platapus..You missed a spot! hey looking gooooood! Must be nice to have your tank. I have been waiting 3 weeks for mine. I should be getting all the surges, sump, and tank here this week, I hope! I am going into withdraws. I canââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t do anything more to my stand until the tank arrives. Wait till you see what I have to do to my floor for support.

when I ordered my tank, I was told 4 weeks....It took 11 weeks. Brace yourself! - I really didnt believe them when they said 4 weeks so it wasnt s shock for me.

DO you have a basement or crawl space?

Ya my house is subterranean. I can access every room under the house. But, the place where I need to support my tank is over my cars in the garage. hehe...this is going to be fun:D

I can't put on the oak faces until I get the tank. I also can install the lights until I can transfer all my livestock into the new tank. dam...dam....dam......dam.....I want to keep going too.

04/06/04 - Electrical: Moving right along, I made enough water to start the circulation pump... what a milkshake! I need to get the skimmers fired up and install some filter floss to help get rid of this milk. The electrical panel has been installed and Ive begun to run some of the cabling. Although the outlets are GCFI, I still decided to install a couple of smoke alarms just in case something shorts.

wow, how much is the eletricity bill going to be on that alone?
I was looking at your skimmer and was wondering what if someone make a spray bar inside the collection cup connected to a timed pump so it has self-cleaning? Anyone try this?
Great project, hopefully we get to see it with all the rock up and running soon.

I dont know - Maybe $80 month? It should be more than my 100 gallon that Ive had setup for 3 years. I switched to ampmaster pump for circulation and dumped the MAG2400. Most of the electrical for this is low wattage and not on all the time.

Wow really looking great, what was wrong with your RO/DI?

The filter cartrage on it has turn completly brown after making 400 gallons of water in 4 days! Never seen it so dirty...thats all.
