Another Anemone Id

Have no clue, got it from a local reefer who was tearing down his tank and he didn't know what kind this is. Only thing he told me was he think it is a red-tip anemone. Its more brown than the picture

That would be a Condylactis Anemone.

Man I was afraid that would be the id, so my clown isn't going to host this at all right? Just making sure before I attempt to take it out of my tank.

It looks like a condy, maroon clownfish host them.

I thought nothing naturally hosted them. I also heard they might eat clowns?

I checked one of the saltwater books that said that a red-leg hermit are natural enemies of condy anemone. But I have a few of the red-leg in my tank and I don't see any problems yet, does that mean it might not be a condy ???

its doubtful ,its looks like a condy to me.

No clowns naturally host condy's...Pacific ocean fish, atlantic ocean anemone. However in captivity some species will take. I had some fire clowns that once hosted a condy.
