wow this is really helpful, especially to those of us just starting out in this hobby.

Sorry to hear about the ordeal, but thanks for sharing your experience so that us newbies can learn too!
 
This thread has been going longer than the Energizer Bunny, I hope Sean is still alive, he may have died from old age by now.
 
I realized I was bumping an old thread, but it's still good info for us n00bs. Also, I was trying to send the link to a friend and for some reason the link wasn't working. So I kinda bumped it for her.

Nzo, I'm sorry I gave you the wrong impression, I was kidding around.
But to be honest, I think that thread may make a lot of nOObs worry about stuff that rarely happens, 20 some years, not even a cut and never ever worn gloves.
Enjoy this hobby, it's one of the best.
 
Want to hear something that made me cry...not just because of the happenings but because of a huge "nail" setback?

I finally had a nail that was looking promising.
Man...this baby is starting to encrust and grow.
I was psyched.
Two Saturday's ago I am working on a fence. One guy is prying two overlapping leaves of the fence apart and my hand is between them.
His pry bar slipped.
Like a wooden guillotine the fence leaves come snapping back together.
On my thumb no less.

It hurt so bad I couldn't even cry out, my testicles went into my abdomen kind of pain.
My thumb was thrashed. :(

holly shiiiiiii. Dude im sorry for you. I get hurt all the time they call me hopalong but dude. Ah . uh. loss for words. and I saw my own shin bone last week with my own eyes. Wow. once your thumb grows back you should go on a nice relaxing vacation.

These are creative attempts to bypass RC's profanity filters, and they are frowned upon. The filters are there for a reason, if you can't spell a word correctly without the filters removing it, then you should not use that word here, period.
