Anthias Photo Library

Sure thing!

I wish I could add some new pics but the only anthias I've added lately were Lori's. I now have a group of nine.

I also have a group of five female parvirostris coming Monday that will be added to the five I already have.

:wavehand: Hi Carl!

Thanks very much for the compliment. They all have big mouths!

It's especially funny because the sunsets are itty bitty, but they cram so much food in them.

I'm happy to see they are scrappy and are in right there with the rest of them during feeding.

Incredible anthias throughout this thread. I especially like the bicolors and the bimacs, though. Any insights from anyone on keeping either of those species?

Heres my Purple Queen:

Im about out of options for feeding her, I see her grabbing at small particles in the water column, but shes not an aggressive eater and is starting to show some weight loss.

Anthias are hard to ID for me, I don't know what this one is. It's probably dispar, that's what I was thinking anyways. Help would be appreciated. Also how do you tell if its male or female, I haven't got it down yet but I think this one is female.

I'm going to guess ignitus from the amount of yellow towards the back of the dorsal area crawling up into the dorsal fin. The eye also looks somewhat purple. Can you get some pics with lower exposure?

in my 175g i would like a shoal of anthias.. which species can people recommend that will mix and grow to around 3"

thanks
