Any Apex Guru's on here? I need HELP!!

Hey everyone!
I'm in a pickle. I tried updating my apex controller to the latest firmware last night and something went wrong. I have posted on the Neptune Systems Forum but no luck yet.

Here is my post:
Hello all!
Last night I attempted to do a firmware update. Not my first time. I plugged the apex into my network via Ethernet cable, turned off Wi-Fi, disabled my AV and firewall but the problems started almost immediately.
Halfway through the update it started to show an error msg, "Error sending block" I believe. Then it would try to resend and succeed after about a minute or two.
It did this from block 51 to 115. So it took a while but finally completed successfully, or so I thought. When I tried to update webpages it timed out several times. When I went out to check the Apex Display it was frozen.
There was nothing I could do to bring it back so I unplugged it after a few mins. After plugging it back in there was nothing, but a blank display and flashing yellow lights on the apex, the EB8 and the WXM module. I have tried power cycling several times with no luck.
I tried unplugging the apex, running the Apex Flash Utility and plugging it back in and still nothing.
This is all I get.

It's been like this for almost 24 hours now!!
I'm really lost here. Not to mention extremely stressed out!!!

If anyone has gone through this and been able to solve it please help me. My tank has been dark for 2 days now and things are looking sad.

This isn't good news for you but almost this identical thing has happened to me. After asking for help in forums and then phone support with Neptune, I ultimately had to send it in for repair. Had to put everything on manual timers and it was a huge pita.

Damn! I was afraid of that. How long did the repair take?
 
Sounds like it's stuck in bootloader mode.

Did you power down your router down at any time? I happened to make that mistake and I was stuck just like you not realizing the ip address changed to the apex. I searched for the apex again and it started right up with the new address.

Assign or reserve an IP address for your Apex so that it doesn't get changed with every power cycle. On my Asus router, it's under LAN>DHCP Server>Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP List.
 
Agree with Breadman03. By looking at your screen, I think your IP may be a little off. If you are able to connect the display and restart then I can probably help walk you through it. Good luck
 
If the IP changed, you can click on the magnifying glass to the right of the IP address in the updater and it will search the network for the Apex and find it so you can complete the update. Having said that, I don't think this is an IP address issue and I see you also posted in the official Neptune forum which is what I would have suggested. If all else fails, open a support ticket. Setup a remote session and it's possible the techs will able to fix your issue remotely.
 
You may not be totally out of luck.

I had this issue happen to me in the last couple of months. There is a thread on the Neptune Forum with the exact instructions.

My recollection is you unplug the Brain. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then you start the update software, put in the IP address, and tell it to update (while the apex brain is unplugged). After the software says something about first attempt, then you plug the Apex brain in. If the update software catches the brain during it's reboot it will restart the firmware upgrade.

There are a few more instruction, but this worked for me. I don't think I Can post a link to the Neptune Forum (neptunesystems - not neptune forum on RC). But search "18-Problems-updating-firmware" and look at the 4th bullet point.

Yeah that's what it seems like. It does not go beyond the screen capture that I posted.
Nothing was powered down. The display just froze after it completed the update. I unplugged it, then plugged it back in, and nothing. Blank dark screen, orange flashing lights on the base, module and eb8.

I already had a static IP assigned to the apex before it went down. Come to think of it, when I started the firmware update,
I went to the settings on the apex via the display and turned on DHCP and restarted it per Neptune Systems instructions.

Yeah, tried that too, with no luck.
I browsed my network with the tool and it found my Apex, but with a different IP than what I had assigned it because I enabled DHCP and the device name was just a bunch of gibberish. Which was strange.
I emailed them but have not heard back other than the acknowledgment of my support request. Unfortunatelly, I had a hectic day at work and couldn't get home in time to call them. I don't know if I would've gotten thru to someone anyway.

Yeah, I tried that too. I think it's just dead.
I just have everything running manually. It sucks.
