any ideas on stocking the 120 legendary lagoon?

multi-bar wont live long, if planning to do more then 1 pair of cleaner shrimp add them at once, they will kill each otherm and adding blood shrimp along with them can cause a problem, as stated the sandsifting starfish will starve even one is too many for a tank that size, get nasarith sp snails if worried about sand turn over. not to be funny but it seem's that no matter what is said you will still put in what you want, the fu man chu will stil eat small fish and shrimps
 
Even if the fu man chu is off live food, you think he'll still eat my gobys? I am a stubborn one but If people help me learn then maybe i could save money, time and effort from keeping the wrong fish together.
 
Lionfish NEVER go "off live food" so yes, it will eat smaller fish and shrimp. People will help you if you show you WANT to learn and will ignore you if you show you are going to do what you want to do no matter what people say.
 
Not to pile on here, but that "serpent star" is a green brittle, a known fish eater. I'd get it out before it gets bigger.

On another note, using "jap" can be considered a racial slur. Obviously, you're talking about a fish, but better off saying "japanese" or at least put a period at the end of "jap". I have several Japanese American friends, so I know something of what I speak. It is considered offensive by many.

Yes, "jap" is considered a pejorative by some people. This board is intended for all and should offend no one by improper use of "terms".
 
You have a ton of problems with your stocking list and have got very good advice on these problems.

That lion will eat anything he can fit in his mouth (both fish and shrimp) and maybe even a few things he cant swallow. Both the mystery wrasse and falco hawk can be very aggressive with smaller and more passive fish like the gobies but I've never personally had any problems with the longnose. That LN hawk may take all of your shrimp out or he may not, it is a a gamble. Its also a gamble with the mystery wrasse and the flashers as well.

The multibar is a tough fish to keep but not impossible. They do need a well seasoned and established tank, especially if they are not feeding (and most of them aren't when they come in). I also agree about the green brittle star, it will eat fish it can catch.
 
Good advice from Kahuna Tuna! Green brittle stars usually feed at night; you will notice missing occupants and that will be the culprit.

smaller ones tend to adapt better to aquaria and begin feeding sooner. (From my experience).

i have a 1 inch Venustus angel and a 1.5 inch multibar. both are feeding very well, compared to bigger specimens 3 inch and above.

multibars are one of the more difficult "dwarf" angels (although they are not in the genus centropyge).

Colini, golden, venustus and multibar are one of the 4 harder ones (IME)

Im glad someone told me this now, Darn LFS, Always selling me one thing and saying its different. I wish I owned the store so I could actually help others instead of screw hem, SO Now I'll take it back and get half credit.

I think im done with the LFS, Ordering online from now on but worries me about the fish being shipped
 
multibars are difficult, usually expensive too. an adult mystery wrasse can be aggressive-they arent to bad as juvi's.


lions are very sight orientated predators and that will never leave them. i liken them to cats-sure they can be kept with smaller rodent pets...for a time, unlike dogs who seem to care less. lions also eat things to big for them and that can kill them too. they remind me of sharks and blood in the water, they dont have a choice but to respond.
 
K lol... I think Ill end up putting my Fu Man CHu in the fuge.

As far as the mystery wrasse I have seen in in many reef tanks and i agree as a juvi they seem very docile but as they get older they get very territorial.

So I guess the best thing to do for a darwf angel is the flame but its soo common, I think im gonna try the multi bar but i hope it makes it.
 
You should always take what people at the LFS say with a grain of salt (sorry bout the semi-pun!). Some will sell you a bill of goods to make a sale. I always try to sound out the employees at one, to see what they know & if they REALLY know it.
Plus, you'd be amazed at what it can get you in corals for small bucks!

so heres an updated list after some re thinking. hope itll work out, i plane on upgrading to a 300+ gallon tank in the next few years so the tangs will have room to grow out fully. but let me know what you think, I have recently redone the aqua scape so ill be add more pics in a while. and since im buying all tangs at or around 1.5-2.5 inches i think ill have plenty of time, and if they are introduced by passive to aggressive theh should be fine right?

Well, I think your stocking list in the 120 gallon tank will give you a LOT of trouble. However I don't think you really want to hear those details so I think it best for you to learn the hard way.
 
why dont you explain yourself instead of telling me that its gonna give me problems, I changed the stocking list according to what you have already said, so why not elaborate instead of being stubborn so i or someone else doesn't waste their money or time.

I can understand if you feel like the bioload is too much, but the fish should all get along, and ive seen tank on here that are 120-180 that have this much livestock in them, why wouldn't i be able to do the same?

I understand also that some of the previous fish i had listed werent very compatible, so i did more research and changed it.

I just received the mystery wrasse in the mail drippped him and added him about 30 minutes ago. As soon i as dropped him in He swim right in to the rocks, havent seen him since. Now the lights are off but chances are his in sandbed? ideas if this guy is hiding or possible he's no more?
