The posts are a bit old but I was thinking of contacting them to see if they are still doing this or will do this...if there is enough interest.

Half way thru the thread it says any club that gathers I think $2000. in cartridges will recieve ...... or better yet

If a club, group, business or an individual can collect and send in $2000.00 worth of recyclable printer cartridges we will send them a box of Aquacultured corals and zooanthids along with CORLââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s mariculture certificates from our CORL farms here in American Samoa (you must make any arrangements with a store, wholesaler or importer to receive the shipment CORL will take care of any CITES paperwork needed). We will have corals and zooanthids ready for export to you in 6-8 months so you have plenty of time to collect the cartridges. We will also still place 500 corals on the reefs for the $2000.00 of cartridges received.

I think this is a pretty cool idea and was wondering if there is any other interest in it? I also think its pretty bad they havent recieved one cartridge from the mainland US!!!
If we reach the $2000. and get a box of corals we could raffle them off at a future meeting once they come in?
Let me know what yas think....

I think this is a great idea. I don't go through alot of cartridges though, I will send them in privately if not done by the group. I will check around the school and see what they do with their old one and will talk to the environmental club advisor and see if they can be any help. I will let you know what I find out.

Perhaps we could put a box or something up somewheres at a local store or something, people seem to like to recycle these days and I agree it is a good idea, it'd be cool to raffle the stuff off, everyone would end up with something I think :)

Dan,
You should see if they are still doing this or not, I just threw an empty black inker out the other day :(

Just sent a email to Mike King, director of CORL, to see if we are still able to do this or something to the same effect. Will post back on this when I get a responce.

I've got a stack of them here but umm... how do we determine the dollar value of a cartrige?

It says how much they give you per cartridge in the thread. It was $2 per ink jet cartridge I believe, and up to $10 for laser jet.

Yup I would love to help out use a Epson Photo printer and go thru a buch of ink at to save a Coral Reef what else could be better :) :) :)

let me know

mike

Dont mean to dig this one out from the graves but I just want to inform those interested that I have emailed all email links provided in that thread, and the main email addy on the CORL website with no responces back. So I doubt this will happen. Didnt want anyone to think I forgot about this. If I happen to hear anything(doubtful) than I will keep yas updated. Thanks to all those that showed interest.
