Any new T5/LED Hybrids on the way?

Hey Jeremy, did you guys see any nice T5/LED fixtures at MACNA that you are considering selling soon?

Thanks!
Aaron

Hi Aaron, are you looking more for T5 with LED moonlighting or slight actinic supplementation? Or are you looking more for something where the LED is the main lighting source, with a little bit of supplementation with the T5?

Jeremy, thanks for the response. I guess I could go either way. I am in the planning stages of a 36" wide tank now, and like the features of both T5 and LED, but didn't want to particularly commit on one technology either way. I think a hybrid fixture could offer the best of both world.

At a min., I guess a nice T5 fixture with moonlighting would be good. But really open to a more LED-focused product, too, with some T5's thrown in there for good measure.

Was just curious if you saw any cool products on the horizon.

With a 36" width, you would have a tough time finding a fixture that is mostly LED as the main lighting that will cover the entire area, outside of doing RB modules, the Cannon's assuming you could get them high enough, or the Vertex Illumina which is not available in the states yet.

The new Giesemann Helios fixture is one of the nicest hybrids on the market, although it does have a hefty price tag. You would have to be cautious with coral placement as well, depending on where the fixture as, as the LED's are not going to give you terrific spread front to back in that 36" width.

The new Coralvue hybrid T5 is a really nice fixture, but again, the LED's are just a single strip down the middle that would be good for a little bit of moonlighting on that size tank, and that's it.

Thanks again for the thoughts. I'll have a look at some of the fixtures you mentioned. I suppose I was hoping ATI or Tek had some new fixtures that incorporated LED's, but like you said, you can always add a RB module to one of those.
