Panman- we'd rather you just say "thank you" for protecting you and your family for the past 30-40 years. Without good guys with guns, bad guys with guns would have an easy time overpowering pacifists.

You're just as bad as that person is....

G22 and 1911 in my future to protect myself from sharks big and small....

BTW - What's an average price for a new G22.

I'm not a gun hater, in fact I'm getting a few hand guns but darn that is definitely overcompensating for the lack of something else!

LOL. Naw no problems there man. The problem is that ARs are like legos. You start building them and tinkering and then one turns into two etc... Seriously if you haven't started building them don't. Your wallet will appreciate the advice.

G22...all glocks are about the same price 500-550 or so give or take brand new. Except the Long slide glocks. They are about 650. I'm pretty sure the G22 is what a .40 cal full size? So I would guess about 500 (sale price) to 550 or so for a gen 3. The gen 4 will be more because they are still off roster.

250 for a lower is not a great deal but I have seen people buy them at higher prices lately. I saw one the other day go for 400 bucks. Heck, I took a snapshot of this a week ago.

Exactly what do you mean by that? I don't appreciate the attack.

I'm in favor a personal responsibility and the right to own my guns. History has shown, the best defense is deterrance. It worked with the USSR and it works on a personal level as well. If a bad guy is worried about breaking into my house because I have guns, he goes onto an anti-gun house and cleans them out or does them harm. Me and my family are safe.

Everyone else- sorry for the rant, back on topic.

I bought my son a new Henry rifle for his 11th birthday (two weeks away) I think I will be more excited then he will be. He said he wanted Black Ops 2, what the hec is that?

"not a great deal" is an understatement. It's twice what they were going for before this idiocy started. BUT I needed ONE more lower to have a dedicated one for my .300blk. And I'm vaguely concerned that it's now or never. But I'm good now, so I can sit out $1/round 5.56 ammo (jeez). FWIW, LAXrange has federal M80 7.62x51 for about .72/round out the door, which for a range is pretty good. The price surges really seem to be impacting .223/5.56 disproportionately.

Anyone got a line on Ruger GSR mags (talk about overpriced)

By the way things are going I think I am just going to hold onto my ammo and just look at it. Soon enough it will be worth its weight in gold. Ah man I miss the good old days. Hopefully today is not going to be tomorrows "good ol day's".

Oh and Gary.... HAPPY NEW YEAR BRO!!!!

As well to the rest of you guys. Let's make my thread last a year!

:wavehand: cool... I've been away awhile and I find this... pretty excited to see a fellow reefer are also into shooting, I've got a few my self. STG-58 my favorite rifle so far, two home build AR to keep the cost down a saiga converted AK-74 again to keep the cost down and a 9mm ruger p89. I also shoot at burro at least once a month, never been to angeles but planning to make the trip there in a few weeks.

Angeles is nice in that they have longer range rifle ranges but the stops to place/check targets are FOREVER because it takes people a long time to mill around a 3-600 yd range. Oaktree is close to Angeles and on the plus side really good trap/clay setup and a really fun steel pistol caliber range. The rifle range is only about 100-120 though but on the plus side the "stoppages" to place/check targets are short and they have plenty of steel targets out there so a lot of people don't even place targets. Stg58 huh????? Pix?????

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE . Another stg58 owner? sweet. Built it yourself or you purchased it assembled?

Angeles? I usually go there to fire off a few rounds since its close to where I live but I prefer BLM land. No one else and you take your breaks when you wish.

Hey moonpod, are you familiar with WASR's? Check out the prices on these. I remember buying mine for 300 back in the day.
