Thanks! I've been watching your thread on the set-up of your 125. Good job:)

That is a quite of an impressive 20L you have there as well. Just make sure to make a thread when you set up your 125 as I will be tagging along. And BTW I got my 125 from Pet Supplies Plus when I lived in PA for $415.00 with A cheep stand & Glass canopies it was a special order item and had to wait 2weeks for it but maybe you could get one here from them as well, its worth checking into none the less.

I'll be sure to post a thread on the 120 I picked up. Sabalough stopped over tonight and he helped with suggestions and I picked his brain for more options on how to plumb etc. I was thrilled share some corals I had out of the 20L to restock his tank.

Now, to not hijack this thread and keep on topic--someday we ( in the Canton/Massillon area) should pick a Sat or Sun and all make a day trip up to Tropical Aquarium and see what all the talk is about :)

was up there tonight, and i have to say from what everyone has said i was a little dissapointed. he has a good setup but i diden't see much worth looking at really. i did like the half circle tank in the front windows tho......

Now that sounds like a great idea to me however it will most likely have to wait until after the holidays for me. Besides it will even give us all a chance to meet each other and maybe do some brain picking.

ill do it, instead of tropical aquarium i say we go to salty critter, would be much more worth a drive, im thinking about starting the design for a small store of my own, im tired of seeing all of these outrageous prices for stuff around here and im sure if i could do something local in the canton area that i could get good buisness and spread the word quick with good prices, already have a breeding program planned out along with the display tanks lol

I would say if you are looking for a road trip, Salty Critter would be more "bang" for the buck as they have a much larger selection, many different corals, etc.

Don't get me wrong, Tropical is very nice and worth stopping by if you are in the area. However, to make a special trip might disappoint you. Their prices are very nice and the store has potential. They are set up to be more fish than inverts. However, Salty specializes in SW/Reef Aquaria and also has a ton of hard goods.

Salty Critter sounds good to me as well for a special trip. now as far as opening up a store I have had that idea for some time now. However the wife and I are opening up an Insurance Co. at the start of the year here in Canton South and I will be getting out of the Retail Rat race for now to help get this up and rolling after that whom knows maybe we will expand our horizons once again. I have high expectations for this as she already owns a successful insurance co. covering the NE and Central Ohio areas specializing in pre need insurance.

Yes, Salty Critter would be best and after the holidays for me also. This is the busiest time of year for me. I make dog clothing and have an online shoppe, am flooded with orders and I should be sewing right now-but I have RTB bad ( Reef Tank Brain).

We will have to get together and pick brains. If anyone wants to come over to the NW side of Massillon, we can set up a meeting time and get a group think tank ( pun intended) goin at my house sometime next month. I'll post a thread after the Holidays.

Maybe by this summer they will be well stocked and have more dry goods in to make the trip up worth it.
Meanwhile, those that have/been/are going keep up the reports.

Things are doing OK at Hector's. Always had something new each time I've gone. Due to head over there next month for bulbs. I'd say the stock has been pretty OK overall.

he is getting ready for this winter, i would say he is the best place to buy livestock, i have yet to buy a fish from there that wasnt eating the day he got it, plus its most likely where im going to get my pipefish at

Went up there on the 4th and picked up a Green frogspawn and a Pearl plus some B-ionic 2part, Hector is very knowledgeable and gives some strong advise They had some very nice corals and very limited fish My only disappointment is that 2 days prior I went to Aquatic tech. and got a single head torch for the same price as the 5 head frogspawn $49.99 where Hector also had a 4 head torch for the same amount. (BTW ask him about the frogspawn in his display tank its quit amazing).

his coral prices are the best, im going to talk to him about some more coral stuff but i got a nice 3x4 monti colony for only 49.95!!!

bump for a nice place! i just stopped by there today.

the front display tank is awesome, he has a 1ft frogspawn. plus about 5 more that are huge.

very nice prices on fish, i got a wild caught perc for $15 about 2in long.

the only thing he needs is more corals! lol
