Not sure but I bought a sun coral, just before putting it in I shook the sun coral/live rock that it was connected to and this fell out and I caught him in a cup!

It looks like an isopod to me though I admit I've never seen one quite like it. At the end toward the top of it you can see what look like typical isopod feelers and on the sides what look like typical isopod legs. It's the decorations at the end that throw me.

Are you not dipping your corals before adding them to your tank? If all you're doing is "shaking the frag" I have bets that a lot more has ended up in your tank then that little guy

I dip and shake everything in a separate bowl. Strange little bug like creatures.

I found a picture just like it on Google but unfortunately it didn't say what species of isopod but did confirm it's an isopod.

Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with isopods. I thought pod=good.

Some isopods are parasitic and others are carnivores. It's rare these kinds enter into the hobby but they do. Since this one is so odd looking I'm very curious to discover it's habits.

The difference here being isopods are thumbnails size or so, and not relatively small like the amphipods and copepods you're seeing.

I believe I found what it was exactly. Thanks to chad and everyone else's input. It is an isopod called..
Sphaeromatidae Latreille... read about it and this specific family it says..

The Sphaeromatidae family of Isopods, considered harmless in the reef aquaria.
One picture at the bottom of the page was the answer

Dipping is for cowards. Much more exciting and macho to see what interesting pests and diseases you can introduce into your tank.
