I recently purchased an established pair from a tank breakdown. Anyone else have these clowns that can share any insight? They seem to be hanging out closer to the surface area and haven't yet hosted any of my rbta's.

If you really want them to live in an anemone you should get them Heteractis Magnifica (Ritteri) or a Gigantea anemone. The anemones are their natural hosts in the wild and almost instant symbiosis is very likely if you follow this advice. Bubble Tips can also host your clowns but that may take a while.
I have 4 clowns, c quest photons, and snow onyx that bounce between 4 different anemones, a gig ( their main home at night) a smaller bta, a h malu, and a huge bta. The pair have taken home to the gig, and the other 2 share the large bta at night
I would just wish that people stop trying to look educated by using the verb "host" only to publicly expose their lack of knowledge. :rolleye1:  :hammer:
You can try to train them. Hopefully you can place the Nem you have in a breeder box, but if not buy another. Put the clowns into the breeder box with the Nem and they will find it's comforting touch sooner then later.
