I was thinking of driving out there, but since it is so far from Davis thought I would find out if it is worth the drive or not. If you can please tell me what they have there and if things are healthy, etc. Thanks!!

It’s what I’d expect from the Roseville auction VERY disappointing .Fish and coral look unhealthy I would never buy any thing from there concidering all good shops near/in Roseville.
I say don’t make the trip for just that place but if your already going for something else I say what the heck!

I keep forgetting there is an LFS in Denios. He is always posting 'stuff' for sale on Craigslist and says he can order anything you want (not sure if pricing would be better than ordering online myself, though).
I live in Rocklin. I wouldn't mind going to Denios and wouldn't mind pricing stuff for you. Just let me know what you are interested in and I'll take pictures and note prices.

I would say it isn't worth the drive from Davis to visit the LFS in Denios but, if you were already going to other LFS in the area then maybe, just maybe I'd stop by.
The more people who visit the LFS in Denios = the more people who will say don't visit the LFS in Denios. heheh

I have only been there twice and i did purchase a nice green bubble still nice and green and very healthy and also a pagoda also nice and healthy.
So, i guess it matters when you go there. I do agree the fish did not look that healthy

I don't see anything wrong with that place, not a great selection like other bigger store, EX: exotic or capitol but the price is right and it fit my pocket book. I did some trade with the owner as well.
I did suggest setting up a frag swap at his store, Jack the owner said we are more than welcom to do so. He told me all we have to do is mention Reefcentral.com and no need to bring the Mars membership card, bring cash instead.
So....Please stop bad mouthing our LFS!!

Wow...I know its Monday and all, but come on. I am not in the hobby for a discount. If you are, then this is the wrong hobby. Maybe 10% more somewhere else might be a better investment because you are getting a better product. Why buy clothes at Wal Mart when you want Nordstrom service. My $.02

Mars discount with YR Ost, lets all go there, Oh! no discount at Exotic.. so we don't go there, wait, they have free salt, lets all go there.
What I am trying to say is we went through this many many times, just don't bad mouth any of them and we get a better price.
I do know Rolls Royce and Bently are better products and their dealer will give you better service also a better investment. Do you drive one? Anyone on this board drive one? I doubt it.

just because something is more expensive than something else does not mean that it is a "better product"...
yinbangyang, pricing wasn't the point of this thread, it was initially about selection and quality. so before you go bashing MARS and it's members, why not take a reading comprehension course? Otherwise, to use your witty vernacular, GFYS.

As a loooonnnngg time MARS member, I ask that we tone this WAY down to the level we would use at the meetings. Every once in a while we need to remember that nothing good ever comes from uncivil behavior. The last time it got out of hand and permanent damage was done at several levels. Please, folks, pretend your kids/parents/corals are going to read this!
