Anyone ever heard of frozen brine shrimp coming back to life?

So I noticed a bunch of what I thought were baby fish in my aquarium. At night I would take a flashlight to try and figure out what they were. I assumed they were baby Banggai cardinal fish. Upon closer inspection I noticed they were actually tiny shrimp.

This confused me because I haven't had any shrimp in my tank for a few months. I have heard a clicking noise from time to time so I may have a hitchhiker mantis or snapping shrimp.

When I took a closer look at the shrimp (now in my overflow, sump, and main tank) I noticed they look just like the frozen brine shrimp I feed my tank a few times a week. I'm assuming the brine or possibly eggs from the brine hit my tank and came back to life. That's the only explanation I can think of as to why there are tiny shrimp in my tank. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Zombie shrimp would be pretty awesome though! As long as they don't feast on fish or corals.

Except mysid shrimp don't look anything like brine shrimp. No idea if brine eggs could survive being frozen but the cysts are really tough, so maybe it's possible. More likely an amphipod of some kind.

Had that happen with freeze dried blood worms when I had Betas. Posted on Beta network and found others had the same experience. Called the manufacturer and they said freeze drying at the "Perfect Freeze" has caused bringing the worms back to life. What was strange is I had just fed them and we watched it happen.....no kodac moment....to shocked.

Brine shrimp cysts have a shelf life of Ten thousand years they can certainly withstand freezing

I have seen this only once with mysis shrimp a long time ago.

I alternate feelings between brine and mysid shrimp so it could be either of them. They are 100% definitely shrimp and not pods. Being that I have added nothing new to the system in a number of months, the only way I could imagine these buggers being introduced would be through the freezing of frozen cubes. I'll try and get a picture but they are small and fast.

You could have had a few in the system that reproduced and supplied the population you have now. That is a lot more feasible than something reanimating from a frozen food supply.

Got hermit crabs? Could be hermit crab zoea. Mysis are also very common, usually hitch in via LR. Frozen brine are not going to come back to life. Also brine shrimp are going to be far too slow not to have been eating by your fish long before they could reproduce and become a "bunch".
