anyone familiar with LFS in S. Florida?

I realize ORL is forever away from S. Florida, but we'll be in the Keys in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone knew if any stops I should make. The forum on RC for S. Florida isn't active.

if your in the keys why would you go to a LFS? Just go diving or snorkeling and you will see much more than in a LFS.

in boca raton theres a place called the barrier reef, atleast there was a few years back not sure if its still there. great store, very big. Theres a guy named Robin there that was exceptionally friendly and always held stuff for me whenever i went down there.

I was actually being serious. I guess it depends on if you like the water. I LOVE the water. I want to go snorkeling or diving every chance I get. If your in the keys do yourself a favor and go on a snorkeling trip. The reefs out in the ocean are so much nicer than any tank could ever be. Diving in the keys is one of my favorite things to do. Its a great feeling breathing underwater and hanging out with the fishys.

personally I wouldn't waste my time on the Barrier reef. There are many MUCH nicer stores in the area. I assume you are driving down. In The Ft Laud area the most popular store would have to be Big Als in Tamarac with the HUGE display tanks(5000G shark tank and 2 1700G tanks 1 FO, 1 FW) plus several other tanks. There are also several really good small stores in the area too...Exotic Aquatic off Oakland Pk Just east of 95....Reefs Edge in Davie and Reeflife in Dania Beach...and Jawz.net right off of 95 and Broward Blvd. Those should keep you busy and not too far out of the way!

im from ft. lauderdale and i love to go home because the stores there have soooooooo much more and the prices are way better! anyway i would check out Reefs Edge they are very knowledgeable and have an amazing store. Also there is a place called Big Als which is like a home depot for fish stores. They are from canada. place is nuts.
