I have been told by A.C. that the PA Pike is the best way to get there. He should know, he drives it enough. Rte. 80 takes you way north of Pitt.
Convoy? When is everyone leaving?
I will probably go sometime Friday morning. Not terribly early leaving time for lunch & stuff, arriving before dinner & hopefully rush hr. out there. The conference is about 45 min. east of the big city.

95 to the PA Pike??? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I like the look of Outer bridge crossing, 287 to 78 to 76 right into Pittsburgh.

I like going over the bridges through Staten Island and then catching the way from there. If you mapquest it they send you some wacky way through Manhattan that will add 2 hours to your trip easy. Doe the gGoethels--much better.
'There is a lot of constuction around Pittsburgh but the conference is in Monroeville, which is a touch east of the city so you shouldn't hit that construction traffic. Hotel wise, there are rooms at the conference center Raddison, but I hear that is almost ful. Then there's a Holiday inn down the road with a shuttle.
As for parties, if you make it out of the hotel there will be a list of brew pubs in the program you can look up and visit, along with an aarticle about beer tasting.
As for Los, well, last MACNA he ended up sitting on the lap of and kissing my dear fiance, so you never know what will happen.
