I was considering purchasing a blue linkia starfish. I have read that they graze over live rocks and dont normally accept prepared foods. Has anyone ever had any luck feeding these stars frozen or other prepared foods? Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

I don't have experience with these, but I just wanted to say awesome name, and great interest :D

got one a couple weeks ago and he just slowly cruises over everything in tank....no need to hand feed-IMO(if you have sufficient L.R. & sand)

Blue Linkia's are specialized eaters. To the best of my knowledge there are no prepared foods for them. They eat algae slime or some thing like that. You want to have a tank that is pretty well established.
Also keep in mind you don't want to touch them with your bare hands, as it can cause them to die. Also when you transfer them from acclimation to tank you want to keep them in water, don't let the air hit them. I used the plastic bag they sent him home in to take him out of the bucket. The other thing to keep in mind with them is, they require stable water conditions. Low nitrates and stable PH and SG.

One other thing to consider is that most of them are already on their way out when you get them. They do not handle capture and shipping stress very well. The also often starve to death as no one really knows for sure what they eat but like CaveManOhio said, they must have a very established tank with lots of live rock.

Good luck!

Based on the Shimek book diet for Blue Linkia is unknown.

Those starfishes usually live 2 years in the aquarium , if they are captured , shipped and acclimatized correctly.

Thanks for the replys, Maybe I will look into a different type of starfish.

Actually all starfish-es are problematic, with only exception of small starfish-es from the family Asterinidae.
