Anyone have one of Rod's 40g sumps?

Rod's making me his patented (patend pending ) 40g breeder tank sumps. I like the design. Does anybody have any pics or video of theirs? I'm just getting ancy to get my FIRST EVER SUMP and FUGE running after 1 1/2 years in the hobby with no FUGE!!

Yes..kinda...had Rod build a 20gal sump and 10 gal fuge (very limited on space in stand)...working Fan-freakin-fantastic...

you are welcome to stop by and look at...I am in Sugar Grove...not sure where you are at in western burbs...

Anyway-you should be happy with Rod's work.

I've got one and a very cool design I must say. It has no baffles in it, but you'll see why. I'll also have a Calfo-Beuhler(Rod) horizontal overflow.

It's not set up yet b/c I'm waiting for some hole saws from Hong Kong. It should be a pretty intresting setup. I plan on starting a thread once I start setting it up.

I'll try to get a picture of the sump tomorrow and post it for you.

Could you just tell me about it? There is a small channel around the backside (or front) which the water goes down into before returning to the sump. Rod said I could use any type of media or rock rubble there. How do you have yours set up? I was gonna run an ASM, then have a small fuge, then use media on that small long return area.

It drains into a bubble tower then to the skimmer section which will have plenty of room for your ASM skimmer. I plan on getting a G3 for mine. It then overflows into the fuge area, which I plan on using for a frag growout area. It then flows through eggcrate, unless you want a DSB in your fuge then Rod will put glass with eggcrate on top. Then it flows down the back to the return pump.

Its kind of hard to explain without seeing it. You Know the old saying about what a picture says.....I'll try to get a picture, but it won't be until aleast Monday. I don't work till then.
