Anyone have problems with hose popping off in 24g JBJ nanocube?

I've had my nanocube for 1.5 years now, and a few months ago I replaced the stock pump with a maxi jet 1200. Since then I have had the hose pop off the 90* elbow that connects to the nozzle in the tank 4 times. 3 of these were in the last week, and I just don't know what to do. Each time 2.5-5 gallons spills out of the tank since the pump is shooting water straight up into the lid. The first 2 times I double clamped the hose with zip ties, the 3rd time I replaced the stock green hose with a softer material hose and double zip tied it.

I'm out of ideas and I'm tired of my carpet getting wet and making a huge mess.

Any ideas?

Same pump and same tank here.

You said you replaced the tubing with softer tubing, do you mean the 3/4" regular silicon tubing that you can find at any hardware store? That's what I have and use without any problems.

yeah, that's what I replaced it with. what kind of clamps are you using?

i picked up some stainless steel hose clamps today so i'll give them a try.

Those clamps are not a very good grade of stainless and will rust. Get yourself some plastic clamps.

Agreed! They make plastic hose clamps that you can pick up at lowes.

CPT.
