anyone here go to 2turtles?

If youre local why not visit them all and see for yourself? Each one of will have a different opinion that wont matter to you really, take a couple hours and go shop hopping.

because i dont have a car and if im gonna make a trip, im really looking to buy and not shop and i cant really just go look around and shop

i agree with zach on the hit or miss... who knows what your gonna find and every store has different prices... some are waaaay cheap on certain fish and not so cheap on others... plus you dont know what your getting sometimes... each store has had some livestock disease issues as well in the past (the ones i have frequented)...

your best bet is to try to make a day out of it and hit a few!

Hi,

Mattyice:
Get off at the Rt. 619 exit(Rt 241) on I77 south and turn right. Go a down about 1/8 - 1/4 mile and on your left is a plaza, he is about in the middle.

To answer your question Romsoccer, the best place to buy frags at a decent price is from your fellow reefers. Most of the local stores sell corals at fairly high prices and the selection is hit or miss. One place that shows some promise from time to time is Pet Junction in Stow. Sometimes they have a good selection of fish & corals, sometimes they don't. The Salty Critter & Aquatic Tech have decent selections but their prices are higher than buying a frag off of your fellow reefer. Check the RC message board and you will find several people in the greater Akron area that sell frags.

so in the plaza with a brubakers pub? or the plaza with the subway building in front of it?

The plaza with thte Subway. On the left if you are coming South on Rt 241 from I-77 Right at the new rotary that they just put in.

Selection at Got Fish keeps getting better. He is slowly getting more live stock and dry goods. There isn't a lot of coral, but the fish selection is the best in Summit county. They just added some new cubes for small fish and inverts too. This place has a lot of potential. IMO

pet junction should be getting better now also since I saw the old owner of Wet Pets in canton is working there now, I just despise the fact that they are buying and selling sharks that get way too large for people to have in an aquarium like the also 2' long nurse shark that they are trying to sell now but they do have some slightly browned out SPS frags there that show some real promise when in a proper reef tank like most of the members here

Beware of Briopsys. I would read up on a few of the tank pests and then look closely at all tanks and be on the lookout for those pests. Some can be easily spotted and if you see it in one tank it is probably in all of them as they are all usually hooked together.

I got Briopsys off of a piece at a LFS and I am still battling it. Knowing what to watch out for is half the battle. Also I would closely monitor all fish behavior to ensure that that fish will get along with the others in your tank.

Make a master fish wish list post it here and then get feedback. Follow the best advice from the largest number of people is the best bet.

Good luck

Speaking of sharks...I saw that Jurassic has a 2ft. nurse shark being housed in a 55 or 75 with a divider in the middle. I asked and apparently it had been there for a couple weeks. Bet it's doing great by now

I second Captain Larry's as a good place for livestock. Not much in good corals, although he is adding some nicer stuff. I have been very happy with the quality he has. They will feed the fish for you before you buy if you ask and are never pushy. Not a great looking building but very nice people with great prices. I still can't believe I got a perfect Copperband Butterfly that devours not only Mysis shrimp but every last Aiptasia I had in my tank. He is a dream fish for any reef tank and he was only $22. Bought a midas blenny from there as well and some inverts.

Good to know we are getting some better places to shop out our way. Pet Junction is hit or miss but I have gotten some good stuff from there. I will be trying got fish this week to see what they have.
