Anyone need Mantis Shrimp?

Hello,

I just set up a 24g Nanocube and after adding live rock, noticed I had little Mantis Shrimp.

I just got finished removing each piece of LR, dipping it in Fresh water and removing the shrimp that came out. I put them back in SW immediately and they all seem fine.

They are all small, 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Half are greenish, some are clear and some are a brownish/red color.

I live on Kent Island in MD, across the bay from Annapolis. Anyone that would like them can have them. I don't really have a way to ship. PM me or email me at eric@sheepdogmarine.com

I ordered the 10G "package" from TBS and got 1 mantis, 2 pistols, 2 gorilla crabs, 1 porcelain crab, 2 red mithrax crabs , all as hitchhikers. I didnt see any of them when I put the rock in the tank.

wow that is cool...but kind of sucks at the same time....how come tbs has so many hitchhikers?

I guess its because they harvest and ship the rock "in water". The rock is never dry, so there is much less die-off. TBS has been a mixed bag for me. Loved it at first, then hated it. Now I'm somewhere in between

Yes I did, and it was only a 10G package. I have read about people with big orders getting many of them. I am about to take my tank apart to get it out. It killed my beautiful Royal Gramma, and many hermit crabs. I watched it beat the !@@# out of the fish. Was cruel. I am not on this board as a mantis lover, just for info and a good read.

yeah i think the mantis shrimp are the most fun to read about on this whole website....well when i set up my 55 gallon ill be sure to order from tbs so i can hopefully get a mantis or two...do you know if two mantis shrimps in one tank would kill off eachother or live in a peaceful coexistance with one another? two would be better then one.
