Anyone see the FW outbreak...

at a certain LFS. Holy smokes. I played dumb and asked about them, one guy there said he didn't know what the were, while one of the guys who has been there awhile copped to the fact they have a problem to deal with. All over frags an entire frag tank.

Yes please. It sounds like it's obvious if we see them but still would like to know in case something were to slip my eye or they tried doing something about it.

Trust me, it would have been nearly impossible to miss them. Don't want to bash the store but just a reminder to QT / dip religiously. Just wondered if anyone else ran into it.

Don't think it would be bashing. We all get outbreaks at times. It would be helpful to know where this outbreak is so I don't contaminate my tank. I understand we should qt/dip but I wouldn't buy corals from a tank that had an outbreak until the problem is fixed. I'm sure this would make the place in question rectify the problem sooner. Once it is fixed I would buy from them.

if you are not going to mention the store there was no point to starting this thread. as others said its not bashing just information.

The red ones?

Best i.d. I could give would be red planaria. I'll answer PM's if you really need to know which shop, like I said, you'd have a tough time missing them. FWIW, I gave up on this shop for livestock years ago. Was on a long run on the Prairie Path and it's a stones throw away so I popped in to take a quick look as a break. Hope they can get it under control soon. I like to stop there to pick up frozen Rod's Food so I'd like them to be a little more professional. They've been around a long time but their reef / salt stuff always seems a little neglected. It just seems like they are apathetic about that part of their business.

+1 to this thread is crap without the store name. Kinda sad he would let his fellow reefers possibly infect their reef.....

I have a feeling I just won a $25 gift card to them at the frag swap.

Ninja, chill out. Those are the responses that almost kept me from posting anything at all. I said if you want to know, PM me and I'll be happy to give you a heads up. I didn't want to just start flaming them but as a "courteys to fell reefers" wanted to at least make mention of the situation in case anyone else came across it. It is not one of the top spots in the area, but happens to be convenient so I try to give them a look every once in awhile. For years, that has been limited to emergency small dry goods and frozen food.

Again, it is more of a reminder to all that we should be vigilant about QT and dipping EVERYTHING so we are doing all that we can to protect the investment in time, money and energy that this hobby requires.

All PM's replied.
