anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Is this the type of wave action I'm looking for? This is a wp40 in W1 S2 on a 125. The HOB overflow is really annoying now. I don't have any corals yet, still battling some leaching PO4.

Nevermind, been playing around with it and think I like it better on S1 with a faster wave frequency. Overflow isn't annoying anymore also.

My friend had one of these fail after a week or two.

I'm not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but is Tunze going to go after any of the US distributors for patent infringement? These are an obvious copy of the Tunze design. I hate to see Chinese businesses undermine and destroy good quality companies with junk knock offs.

It's happening all over the country and I'm sick of it.

Chinese companies don't have to steal for this to happen. Companies like Ford will drop cheap transmissions (to save a buck) built in China right in the car and charge you 40,000 for it.

At least with jaebo you get charged the appropriate price for what you are getting. And before you bite MY head off let me redirect your anger to the appropriate companies for the point I made....that would be the customer service desk of AMERICAN companies charging AMERICAN prices for things filled cheap low grade with Chinese parts and pocketing the money.

If you want yo fight the battle if. "I'm sick if it" with me you are going to need A LOT of ammunition

I'm not sure Tunze can do anything. They may not have a patent simply for the design of the case of the device especially if it doesn't actually do anything to benefit the pump. A quick search with the USPTO search shows they have patents for their wavebox, some device to make sure the propeller starts the same direction, and a magnet holder, granted they may have a patent for the shape of the pump or for the holder and I just used incorrect search parameters but if they don't, they really don't have much of a leg to stand on.

If you really look at the two, they are not direct copies of each other. While yeah they both have bulb like designs for the shroud around the pump. The intake slots are aligned differently, the grate on the output is a different configuration, the output on the Tunze is off center where as the Jebao is symmetrically aligned, the glass side magnet isn't anywhere close to the same (looks similar to a Koralia magnet/suction combo). The only thing that really is similar are the mounting brackets that holds the pump and even then they're not the same shape.

This is like Honda releasing a hybrid that looked very close to that of a Prius, there's nothing illegal against it if it looks similar.

Please dont turn this thread into a tunze jebao thing, there were already plenty of them that got locked, i dont wanna have this one end the same way.

My bad, it's just that my dad had something similar happen to him. A Chinese company swooped in with a product that looked just like his but at a quarter of the cost. They named their company after my dad to take advantage of the good reputation he spent two decades to build. Literally used my dad's first name as their company name (it's a unique name). They copied every single item he makes and sells. Literally every single one. Zero respect. Freaking ruthless.

I see this happening with Jebao. Of all the model numbers, they choose WP40. Ok we get it, you want to sound like you're selling a quality product like Ecotech's MP40. It's just shady man.

Take a look at this:

They're calling their DC pump "Eco-Tech". Ecotech with a hyphon. Ridiculous.

I don't care what they charge, I just think they should stand on their own name and reputation.

Ok I'm done. Rant over. Mods if I crossed the line please remove my post.

Yes we know about the names and such and how alot of items are copied and renamed for cheaper, sorry about your dads business though. But if you do a seach for the thread "jebao does it again knockoff " you can read all about it.

Will the dry side magnet on WP60's survive inside the overflow under water constantly ( will it rust)???? and if so how can I resolve this problem. Thanks .

I pay more attention to the auto industry than the aquarium and none off this is new. Every generation of Hyundai looks like a Mercedes, or jaguar or some other knock off of a more expensive brand. To tell the truth I like the more aesthetically pleasing designs more than GMs apparent" let's see just HOW UGLY/BOXY WE can make the next version" approach. Meanwhile ford keeps dropping piece of crap tremec transmissions In their mustangs, only to finally switch to their "modern" mt82 Chinese made one.....you know, the one that won't go into gear if it's below 45 degrees or if your making a sharp left.

Dodge seems to ENGINEER their vehicles so that one major electrical component has to be replaced every 10,000 miles...parts made......in CHINA

The only reason why dodge isn't always dead last in quality is because GM occasionally steals that honor.

Mad at foreign companies? No

I gave up started buying Nissan

Having said that, part of my reasons for buying kessil and reef octopus was for their customer service......but if there were comparable options available at. 25% of the price I would have considered them.

I'm thinking of replacing my Korallia's with a WP40 in my 5' 100 gallon softy reef... What say those of you who are running WP's in a similar tank??

Had to clean my wp-40 for the first time due to a slowdown in performance. I let it run in in a small bucket with vinegar and water for about three hours then I tried to take it apart but couldn't I didn't want to force it and break it. Could someone tell me how it comes apart?
Thanks,
Vic

I have a 180g with one Wp40 (set on Else) and one Koralia 1400 and it seems like I could use more flow but on a 100g I would think my set up would be perfect for you since when my Wp40 goes to high it does create a nice surge. Would not use 2 wp40 ( too much flow ) especially when they use 40watts($70.00 year @.20 kw) ea. vs Koralia Magnum7 12watts ($21.00 yr @.20KW).

With that said if you are going to mod for alternating pump flow it would probably be great to have 2 Wp40's

Note: I'm probably going to switch my Wp40 for Wp60 or add another Koralia.

Front cage snaps loose turning counterclockwise 10 degrees with about 15 lbs of force
