anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Do I need the Neptune Systems VDM Variable Speed Dimming Module/Aqua Illuminations Compatible in addition to the parts listed? Also do I need the Neptune Systems 2 Channel AquaSurf/Apex to Stream Cable or the Neptune System 1 channel Apex to Stream / 1 channel light dimming cable ?

If you have the full apex, you already have the vdm Ethernet jack ports.

The Neptune cables are just Ethernet cables with only the 4 wires connected as listed in my how-to. Cut away the other colors. There is no reason to buy the Neptune cables and spend the crazy price on them. A cat5e cable is like $1.

bhazard451 - Now I see what you mean. I just cut the tip off an Ethernet cord I had laying on my desk. Thanks again for the speedy reply!

Here's a quick one

For Neptune Apex:

0-10v analog input PWM module:
Search ebay for LED DIMMER PWM 10 A.12VDC-24 VDC; POT. or 0-10V control

Cat5e ethernet cord

Wire nuts or solder and heat shrink tubing

Solid core wires (or wires that can handle up to 5A) stevesleds has some

Unscrew the controller casing

P2190005_zps108350d0.jpg

24- is blue
24+ is reddish
VA is green yellow and remains untouched

Cut the blue and red wire about halfway down, so you have enough wire connected to the controller still, and some down the cord.

Add solid core wire to extend the wire length with wire nuts, solder, or some way to connect the wires securely.

The 0-10v PWM module terminals look like this -+ +-

The first -(blue) and +(red) go to the pump wires

The next +(red) -(blue) are the ones connected to the controller internals 24+ and 24- points

The following saves you $14 over getting a neptune vdm cord.

Cut one end of a Cat 5e ethernet cord off.

Keep the following wires:
orange/white wire (positive) - orange wire (negative)
blue/white wire (positive) - green wire (negative)

When plugged into the first VDM port, blue/white green is V1, oranges are V2
Second port, blue white green is V3, oranges V4

On the 0-10v module for V1, connect blue/white to + on 0-10v control input terminal , green to - control.

Put the controller back together in a project box, do a really good job with electrical tape taping the loose box together, or fit it all inside somehow and screw back together.

Set profiles and you're done.

Thank you!

Finally received my wp40 in the mail today! Got to say the pump is amazing. Much more happy with this than I was with an MP10. I bought an MP10 expecting it to make some waves in my 3 foot tank, but was very disappointed because it performed about the same as my koralias. Needless to say I returned the MP10 and bought this. I am running it on W1 mode on the lowest setting and it is running great, dont think I will be needing the converter to reduce the speed of the pump.

How many gallons is the tank? Surprised it's not way too much on a 3 footer....

I saw one in person and it was in the hands of a Reef Angel Employee who said that they were going to see it could be controlled by the Reef Angel Controller. We will have to see.

The good news is that it was found to be easily hooked up to the RA and controlled. The posts were a few pages back. A harness for both PWM and Analog RA head units is being worked on.

Have any of you contacted Jebo directly for a pump? I saw on atl reef Club that someone said they got a reply from Jebo that they would sell them the pump for like $35! Anyone hear about this? Obnoxious since I paid "full" price if true...

Here's the quote from the Atlanta Reef Club

I contacted Jebao directly about purchasing from them:

"The price for WP-40 is around $35, please advise your zip code or address so we can check
the freight price to you ,thanks!"

Waiting for shipping costs.

truthfully you wont get anything into the US from China directly for the 26$ in shipping we pay. I'm looking at my corporate Fedex/UPS/TNT from China to NJ and depending on the weight of this thing, you could be looking at 60-70$ in shipping. unless they use their house account and just PPA you, but ill wait to see what you get as far as a shipping quote.

Granted the difference would still be cheaper than the 89 + 26 that most of us have paid.

Shipping costs will be high, probably as much as the pump itself unless you can get airmail, which takes 3-4 weeks to ship.

They are very poor at responding to emails too. I've tried multiple times to get a quote and they haven't responded with one.

If Fish-Street.com is the only retailer selling this pump worldwide, you can be pretty sure Jebao will not sell direct to individuals.

Man I missed 1 day and had 4 pages to read up on. I have an older ACjr but have been looking into gettin a full Apex but I am now reconsidering going the RA route. Any idea on what the cost of the RA harness will cost? Will you need to purchase any additional modules with for the RA to control this pump?

I put one in a 36" tank (standard 65) as well and the flow was fine. It would certainly push water out of the tank in W1 depending on how you dialed it in. I wouldn't say it was too much flow though. It did take up far more space in the tank than I cared for.

I'll end up selling off my WP40 off (it's on loan at the moment) and possibly grab two of the WP25 when they come out.

Ok last night when I was sitting at the dinning table working I was finally able to barley hear the ramping up and down you all were talking about. That said I was 8' from the tank and it was dead silent in the house as everyone else was asleep. If that's as bad as it gets I am more than happy to put up with it under those conditions :-)

MP40s make way more noise.

Not sure what the harness will cost but Id be surprised if it was more than $20. You will only need an additional module if you use the built in dimming plugs for LEDs or something else.
