We did a GB on our local forum and a few guys have them in their 40g tanks with the variable power supplies and are happy with them.

Thank for your infor.. so could u tell me which power supplies they used for it.. a link should be nice and helpfull.. thanks

what is the difference between the W1 and W2 settings? does one create more of a wave and does the other run a more constant flow?

W1 seems to be a evenlly pulsating mode, you can change the frequency of the pulse by adjusting the knob.
W2 seems to slowly build up speed, then back down. Again you can change the frequency by adjusting the knob.

from what i understand ELSE mode just randomly pulses

When I sent that tip the other day I didn't realize they would be all over it so fast. I think I deserve free corals from everyone. Lol
By the way I've got one on my 125g and like it so much I ordered another to run on my Koralia smart wave for some back and forth flow.

No! Now they are going to have supply issues and we'll never be able to get them.....:uhoh2:

In Else mode, the pump randomly ramps up and down, never comes to a complete stop. It doesn't pulse. The only mode it pulses is the W1 mode.

i dont like the huge wave that W1 produces from what I am seeing. i guess i will just have to play once i get it and my build finished.

Yeah, that's the one I like the most so far. :) Nice water movement and slight water lavel waving motion (at 15V that is :)).

I purchased two of these for my 90 gallon aquarium. I also bought an adapter that bhazard linked to that is 120w and has 7 power adjustments. What voltage should I use and what would be the best settings for the actual powerhead controller?

degibson84 - The wave can be adjusted so its not that bad. Just make sure to play with the W1 mode with all pumps and return off. Otherwise you could get water all over your floor :).

That would be great I would like to see it next to the 6045

how big is it compared to a 6055 or 6095?

Here is the pump compared to the 6055 and 6045.

is placement of the unit in the tank going to affect the wave any? my tank is a 220 72x30x24

I do plan to use a variable power supply as well just to have a little more control over power.

degibson84 - I made a video a few pages back showing how much of a wave it made in my 180 (72x24x24). I would think you could place in it in different spots and see what the result is. I also have a few large colonies in the tank so that helps disperse some of the waves.

the more i look at the wave videos the more i think it will screw with my overflow by not letting enough water flow into it and end up losing syphon
