anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

So is that the best place to aquire one? Fish-street? I saw you can get the new controller for like $13 and that the stock controller now has 12 settings/modes from fish-street only(from what I understood from the writen text) is that all I will need to get from him-the pump and the variable speed controller added on and im set(until I hook it to the apex anyways)???it also seemed there were other parts you can get for free?? The rubber shaft cap mod for quiteing the pump from him also. Its hard to understand what's goin on on his site. I was also thinking I would keep 2 of the hydors hidden in the rock for random flow so im guessing a 25 would work quite nicely in my 90g???from the videos I've seen anyways.

I like the demos I saw on youtube. Sold! I ordered a WP40 today for my new 125g. I was afraid if I didnt get it now this product may longer not be available or go up in price. It really is too good to be true! I had gotten 2 Koralia 1400s with the smart wave controller because like most, believed the manufacturer on the new pump being silent. Returned the pumps today as well. Ill probly craglist the controller.

Its not too good to be true. Its just about right to be true.

Based on the build of materials (BOM), they are probably making a ~100% profit which is pretty normal for retail.

The other pumps that you are used to seeing with much higher price tags have better circuits (audible alarms when stuck, thermal/run dry shutdown protections) and better customer support and/or enforceable patents that prohibit others from manufacturing their protected design which leads to inflated margins on those proprietary units.

Just got my WP40 in today, I have a question for all you current users. The pump is making a nasty vibration/ chatter noise even on the low night mode setting. Anyone have experience with this ? I tried pulling the pump off the bracket but it still makes the noise and I feel it in my hand . It's almost like the blade is hitting the cage exterior

Ill try to disassemble it tomorrow ... New issue which i find very odd .. The light sensor was working perfectly, I have the control on my canopy and the sensor was reading the light reflecting off the wall..
Now the sensor works backwards ! Light turns the pump off ! Darkness turns it on and then my finger over the sensor turns it off , I'm so confused

Pull the shroud off the pump and make sure both bushings are pushed in all the way, there is one on the shroud and the other is in the pump

Does anyone have a layout of pro's and con's for the 40 vs the 25 and vice versa. From what I've read the big one is obviously the big one eye sore vs the smaller 25. But is there more intigrated into the 25 as far as functionality goes due to its second generation status and such a closeness in price. Obviously I want more power but it seems the smaller 25 is becoming the better way to go.?. I have a 90g with a good 6 PH in it right now mixed between evolutions and sicce and still have a few dead spots despite running an open rock scape. I would be happy to trade these up for a single pump that would work. Just torn between the 40&25. Any info to help make the decision on which to go with greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wp25/wp40 comparison
Price- similar
Noise level- similar

Wp40

Pros
-Wide flow
-High flow

Cons
-Big

Wp25

Pros
-Small
-high flow in relation to size

Cons
-narrow flow

Feel free to add your pros/cons
I will be putting my wp40 back in my 90 gallon. I like the wider flow compared to the wp25s.

well here is the 2nd inncodent. this was just letting 1 of my wp40's run in regular water for about 24 hours. neither of my wp25's did this. I took the pump apart to see if I could see where it was comming from but I couldn't see anything. I just dumped the water and am now running it again in new clean water to see if it continues to leach.

city water, this house is old though if if we leave for a day and come back to turn on the water it will start out a rust color before clearing up after running it a while.

I will try in rodi water to see if there is a diffrence, however my wp25's never changed the color of the water.

Shifty: My WP40's turned the water sort of red/brown when I added vinegar (only when I added vinegar, like a tablespoon in 5 gallons of water), and had tiny flecks of plastic floating around. My pumps also had a lot of grease on the impeller, and the plastic housing was sort of oily. That's where I think the discoloration is coming from. Thoroughly wipe every nook and cranny and see if it helps.

I honestly don't think it's leaking anything from inside the housing, as there were no air bubbles escaping when submerged, and the casing looked intact. I think it's just factory grease and grime on the plastic.

yeah mine had alot of greese on it also (more than the wp25's), this is the main reason I rinse off everything before it goes in the tank. I guess I just didn't think of the greese would change the color of the water but who knows lol.

I did wipe everything down real good and placed it back in clean rodi water this time so we will see.

I found my problem, the front half of my exterior case has no rubber guide for the impeller. How should I go about this? Does FS sell them even if I didn't purchase from them

Anyone has any spare rubbers willing to sell
Me ?

They do have replacement rubber impeller guide, but I would just email them about your missing one. They might just send you out one at no cost or just for a couple of dollars to cover shipping.

I emailed fish street and they won't sell me the rubber piece because I didnt purchase the pump from them.. What a let down, well I made a quick fix with some hose and not the pump is almost.. Almost silent

Is anyone willing to order me the piece with their purchase ID ? Ill pay the cost of it

Can someone please make a video with the new (f1) controller showing all the new functions I wanna see if the upgrade is worth $20.
