Anyone use Hydrogen Peroxide to get rid of Bryopsis

I believe what I have is bryopsis. I started with BRS Pukani Rock. Some people have reported phosphate leaching from the rock.

Earlier this week, I took out 1/2 off the rock from the DT. I started treatment with Lanthanum Chloride. While I believe this has helped remove the leaching phosphate, there is still residual algae on the rock.

Since I still have the rock outside of the DT, I was going to dose with Kent Tech M to get rid of the bryopsis. All of the bryopsis that I can't remove by hand or toothbrush.

But then I came across information about peroxide. People are saying to add 1ml to 10gallons of water. On the other hand, since this is outside my DT, I was thinking I could just add a higher dose directly to my tub holding the rocks and hope this gets rid of the algae.

Anyone recommend/try this? Or should I stick to the original plan of returning the rock and using the Kent Tech M and raising Mg levels to 1800?

BTW the only thing in my tub are some snails that came along for the ride with the rock.

Thanks for your help.

I removed some of my rock to use peroxide, and it worked like a charm. I didnt use in my DT though. If the rock isnt in your DT and you arent worried about killing anything then I would take a few bottles of peroxide and empty into a 5g bucket without any water. Then just dip the rocks in it for a few minutes. The algae will be totally gone after a few days. Will probably kill anything alive on your rocks, so remove anything you dont want dead.

Not to be argumentative, but I think a long soak is better than a quick dip if you want it to get into all of the nooks and crannys.

Long soak wouldnt hurt, but I dont think its necessary either. Ive done about 6 of my rocks and the most they get is about 2-3 minutes exposure and after 48 hours its as clean as can be. Since you dont even need to return the rock in your tank right away, do a longer dip/soak. My rocks all had SPS on them, so I was using a baster to spray certain areas, and dipping other areas.

I just started using peroxide, works like a charm! What I did was take the rocks out, take the 99 cent bottle of peroxide and squeeze it out onto the rocks, no dipping. Only do that if the hole that the peroxide comes out of is tiny so that it forms a nice thin stream, not open enough that it will glug out. Soak em in the areas that are bad, let it sit for a few minutes and the algae will die off.

I had it bad, my rocks were almost completely covered in long bryopsis (bad husbandry... gimme a break I'm away at college most of the week :P ) Heres my tank now... 3 rocks on the left, 2 of which I soaked a week ago and the 3rd i soaked a few days ago (still has some on it). And on the left is a big rock that I didn't soak at all, yet! Kinda like a before and after in the same tank. And btw, I took this pic this morning so that's why most of the corals aren't out - turned the light on for just a few seconds.
