I believe what I have is bryopsis. I started with BRS Pukani Rock. Some people have reported phosphate leaching from the rock.
Earlier this week, I took out 1/2 off the rock from the DT. I started treatment with Lanthanum Chloride. While I believe this has helped remove the leaching phosphate, there is still residual algae on the rock.
Since I still have the rock outside of the DT, I was going to dose with Kent Tech M to get rid of the bryopsis. All of the bryopsis that I can't remove by hand or toothbrush.
But then I came across information about peroxide. People are saying to add 1ml to 10gallons of water. On the other hand, since this is outside my DT, I was thinking I could just add a higher dose directly to my tub holding the rocks and hope this gets rid of the algae.
Anyone recommend/try this? Or should I stick to the original plan of returning the rock and using the Kent Tech M and raising Mg levels to 1800?
BTW the only thing in my tub are some snails that came along for the ride with the rock.
Thanks for your help.
