anyone using a nano reefpack 200 yet?

Hi Aaron - good to hear from you again - the 'sea-gel' seems to be really good stuff. I was at the lfs over the w'end and they had put it in the bargain section for only Ã"šÃ‚£2 so I thought i'd try it. I think i'll have to go back and buy up a couple more!! I've only put about a qtr jar in the mesh bag and just placed it in the filter chamber. As you may have read I made a couple of small mods to my unit so as the pump never runs dry... hope this helps.

Roger - I spoke to the UK distributor today with regards the microbubble prob i'm having - it seems like it may have been a manufacturer fault on the bottom cap as their other units don't have this issue - anyway they are going to send me a replacement when the nxt supply comes through..

CamBarr - I'll try and get some in-tank shots together - you guys will have to excuse my tank as its only 3mths old so still developing and of course we dont get the nice selection of corals here in the uk as you guys do. (If anybody is willing to ship me some red blasto would be much appreciated!!!!)

Roshan, are you getting a whole new unit, or just a new bottom plate? I think I'm just going to silicone mine. I have put the bottom plate on both ways and it just doesn't fit good either way.

Hello from finland I've got a question about the osmolator that can be used with the nano reefpack 200 is it the Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 ? (sold here in the EU)

Hi Aaron - The UK distributor noted that they would swap the entire unit when the next batch comes through - however, given the posts on this thread I am reluctant to send mine back in entirity as its only the botton plate/cap. I will ask them to just send me a new cap and i'll then post mine back. However, like you I was going to silicon mine or possibility use some reef putty - milliput as its known here. As my setup is working very weel, hope you think the same from the pics I posted, I would rather keep the unit as just swap the plate.

Lugonn[71] - Yes the latest Osmolator 3155 can be used with the reefpack 200 but I understand it is not a modular system so I beleive you have to place the sensors within the filetr chamber or elsewhere in the tank. There is some info somewhere on another thread with regard this. I enquired about this too and will probably get on sometime later on - for now I made a small modification to ensure the pump doesn't run dry if I forgot to top up one evening!

Just to update you further - I managed to solve the mirco bubble problem by removing the bottom cap - wrapping a little filter wool around the catch, and then re-attaching. Seems to have done the trick but will still swap the cap when my distributor send me replacement.

In the meantime I thought i'd post a few pics of my tank - bear in mind its only been going for just over two mths (although I do have about 5yrs reef keeping experience).

Reefpack

Reefpack

Roger-

I got my Reefpack today; and the unit is functionally good, except I believe the screw is too short; no worries on that though, as we previously discussed it.

My only concern is the plastic clips which the magnet mounts to came off in shipping; what would you recommend for an adhesive I could use to re-attach them? Cyanoacrylate, any commonly availabe epoxy, or standard aquarium RTV/Silicone?

Thanks-

-Andy/Oldimpala

I sent you the screw already. I thinbk it would be best if I send you the glue we use at the factory. It is called Tangit, it is a plastic cement and it will fix it up like new.
