hey guys, the garbage bulkheads that came with the tank are slowly dripping and im getting sick of fooling with em. i know the heavy duty bulkheads need a larger hole and this tank is running so increasing the size is out of the question. i need the barbed bulkheads that accept the corrugated overflow hose (1" i think?) as well as a barbed one that accepts 7/8" id hose for the return. could someone link me up with somethink that would work with the stock holes maybe from savko? im ready to order, just not too keen on ordering the wrong ones. any insight would be much appreciated! tia<~~steve

You need to get the sched 40 bulkheads to work with that tank. You don't need to get them with barbs already in them. I did double-threaded bulkheads (threaded on the inside on the top and the bottom) and got a barb with male threads on one end from lowes. A little teflon tape, screw it in, and hook up the tubing. The barbs are in the section where they sell sprinkler system parts.

So on savko, that would be the lightweight bulkheads with the "T*T" (for threaded / threaded):

I certainly wish the tank manufacturers would drill these things for the sched 80 bulkheads, but alas they do not...

nice, thanks jack. i just ordered 3 1" slip by threaded as those work for my dursos a little easier. ill have to go buy those barbed fittings. thanks for the heads up. i hope these dont dribble all over the place too. does anyone know for sure that aga/perfecto tanks are drilled 1 7/8" or whatever size savko has em listed as requiring? i ordered the 1" lightweight version in jacks link above. now im hoping it fits the tank. tia<~~~steve

I have seen heavy duty bulkheads leak as much as the cheaper ones the way I found to stop the leaks is to seal the bulk head with silicone on the inside and nut side and I do not use the rubber that comes with it I know others that use both but I prefer no rubbers.

waynesworld---I would have to say that I have seen the exact opposite. The schedule 40 bulkheads have much smaller (thinner) gaskets, typically made of HDPE. The schedule 80 bulkheads have rubber gaskets that are much thicker. For this reason, the schedule 80 bulkheads seal much better. Back when I worked in industry, they would not even allow schedule 40 bulkheads in a chemical plant because they were not thought to be professional quality. I purposely ordered my new 120 custom drilled for schedule 80 bulkheads because I have lost all faith in the schedule 40 fittings.

Well it really is not the opposite I don't trust either gasket and I would always use the 80 bulkhead if had a choice but I know some people trust the 80s I am just saying you can seal them too. I just had a 80 leak on me when I put new ones in my 90 because my brother told me to use both then When I used ony silicone I didn't leak it is really a preference like most plumbing things I know people that swear by Teflon tape and some that use paste. Some people use Bud and others use Coors which ever way works for u.
