Apex base module continually resetting.

Just got my Apex last Saturday and since I have everything hooked up and programmed my base module has been constantly resetting itself. It has reset about 120 times in 3 days. What happens is...everything is trucking along fine them my base unit light blinks orange 10 times then back to solid green and everything us ok. This happens every 5 minutes. Nothing loses power except for the outlets I have programmed to turn off for five minutes after a power loss recovery. Not sure what is causing it, but I am ready to smash this thing !!

Make sure you're on the latest firmware. If not, then upgrade. There's been a number of issues corrected that have to do with sporadic reboots.

Unfortunately I am (well not the new Beta version).

Do you happen to have anything plugged into the VS ports? It's a stretch, but if any of the unused pins are shorted it will cause a reboot.

You can try unplugging the ethernet cable and see if that helps at all. There were issues with the web server causing reboots if it was probed.

VS ports are open.

At this point, you should probably contact Neptune Support. There is a command that creates a data file that Curt can look at to diagnose the issue.

Been there, dine that. No help. Couldn't see anything wrong. Now I am trying to reinstall my firmware.

Looks like the base unit and display unit are going back. Time to break out the trusty old RK2 till the apex comes back. (Good thing I didn't sell it! Phew !!!)

Got a RMA number to send the unit back. Because I'm not looking forward to unplugging everything and setting just the essentials on the RK2 I decided to try one more trouble shooting episode. As a result I may have found my issue. For anyone who might have the same issue I was having here's what fixed it(so far). When I had the continual rebooting I had my display and my EB8_5 plugged into my base unit. From my EB8_5 I ran a second aquabus cable to my EB8_3 and then had an aquabus cable running from my EB8_3 to my WXM module. As a last ditch effort (thinking my EB8 was interfering with my base unit) I unplugged my aquabus cable that ran from my EB8_5 to my base unit and also unplugged the aquabus cable the ran from my EB8_3 to my WXM module. Then I ran the cable from my WXM to the base unit and a different cable from my EB8_3 to my WXM module. As a result of the change I have had no restarts/reboots in over 2 hours and my temp and PH readings are now correct. I will wait and see how it maintains over the weekend. So far so good after reboots every 2-5 minutes.

Possibly a short on the connector you were using on the EB8? There are 6 to choose from.

Used the same connectors. And same cables. Just changed what was plugged into what.

Did you try the firmware update; Curt mentiones that he fixed code that caused some continuous reboots on some systems; it might be worth a try.

Firmware was updated to the newest several hours (about 4 hours) prior to me switching how the cables were plugged in. It did nothing. As soon as switched how my cables were plugged in, everything stabilized an I have now had ZERO issues going on 10 hours now, whereas before it was jacked up every 5 minutes.
