Apex Gold won't connect to network

I'm trying to set up my apex for the first time. My computer discovers it just fine via WiFi but when I try to log into the network I get a "communication or bad password error". Tried resetting a number of times and the same thing happens every time.

I've tried to find the user manual on their website but I can't find it.

Not sure what this means.

Are we talking about the new version of the Apex (2016) with wifi built-in, or a Apex Gold package with the legacy base unit and a separate wifi adapter?

It's the new 2016 Apex. I was incorrect about the Gold.

I plug in the Apex and the light is blue.
I click on "http://apex.local". and get a "Communication Error" message.
Apex Setup XXXXX does show up on my "available WiFi connections" on my pc.

If I log into Apex Setup XXXXX connection when I click on "http://apex.local" I get the screen that tells me to select a network to connect to and enter my password. When I select my home network to connect to it tries for about two minutes to connect at which point I get a "password or communication error message".

Been messing with it for hours and it's such a simple thing. I've tried looking everywhere for a manual but can't find one. Everything is for the older Apex units.

Strange............

After getting another "password or communication error" message I opened a new browser and went to http://apex and was taken to the login page. Logged in with "admin" and "1234" with no problem. Got a coin and connected to fusion immediately.

I guess the "error" message was in error. lol

Strange but working now.

I got the same login error this time. I opened a new browser and typed in http://apex and I was taken to the login page. "admin" and "1234". I was immediately logged in and it's working. I was able to get a token and login to fusion.

I guess the network login "error" was in error.

It's likely your browser was just trying to refresh the page before the Apex got fully connected to your home network. Glad to hear it's working. Double check your routers wireless encryption and make sure it's WPA2-Personal not TKIP.
