Hey RC just wondering if you could help me with port fowarding on my apex controller... I set up a port fowarding on my netgear n600 router v2 and used my public IP to try and access it outside my house [removed] however it will not let me access the controller for some reason... I have a wireless gaming adapter that connects my apex to the internet [IP removed for user safety---sk8r]
No idea what im doing wrong any feed back would be great.
Thanks again

did u program the same ports internally in apex. it seems like u did judging from ur internal ip address.
can u access apex on 192.168.1.88:4545?

Looks open to me. I get the login prompt for what looks like the Apex.

By the way, you might want to edit your public IP address in your original post and remove a section. I doubt the Apex has any protection against a brute force attack.

Im new to reef central... I have no idea how to edit my first post to block out a section of my public IP... Also, i changed my port to 4545 and it allowed me to access my apex outside my home network, i have no idea why that worked but who cares lol

The default port is 80, which is used to host a website. A lot of ISP's block port 80 to keep residential users from setting up a web server.

At the bottom right of your first post, you should see an "Edit" button. Hit that button and it should open a box allowing you to edit the post. If for some reason that doesn't work, I would PM a moderator and ask them to change or remove that section for you.

It's just a security issue that could potentially allow someone to take control of your Apex.

You could also change the port number, although it would be easier to edit the post.

Whats a moderators name on this site? also, i cant private message the moderator because i dont have enough posts, mayb you could help me out because there is no edit option next to my first post... Thanks

I see sk8r removed one of the addresses, but he removed the internal IP, not the external. I know you said you can't PM a mod, so I'll see if I can PM sk8r and ask him to remove the other address.

GOt it, I hope...what do I know? I can BUILD a computer re hardware: the numbery-squiggly internetty stuff it does is sometimes confusing. ;) If that doesn't work, PM me.

Thanks again for everyones help im glad no one can hack my apex now lol dont need people turning my tank off

Over there under the avatar and name and stuff of the poster. Underneath Nic Tesla if you're reading this.

See that little red triangle?

Push that if you need to bring a mods attention to a post. They all have real lives so it might not happen instantly, but within a pretty short time one of them will see it.

I was going to do that but when I got to the second screen I saw this at the bottom:

I didn't want to violate the TOU.
