Apisto's Shallow Deep-waters

Here is a couple of growth shots. The first is Mr. Pacman. Nice growth on this and the color has improved, not that you could tell from my pic. I have a lot of trouble getting the yellow color of the polyps. It is one of the things that makes the coral.

I need a top-down shot of this now that it has filled in well.

Thanks. I think that deepwaters can be no more difficult than many other acros, easier in some cases. However, they seem to require a good start as frags. Dipping must be managed carefully and parameters should be kept as stable as possible during acclimation to a new environment. Once you get them going, most are pretty hardy.

I never success with deep water sps. I need to learn from you i think, nice thread btw. And nice sps.

Super nice Sps and tank. What is the first yellow sps called and is the second a yellow stinger? Also, how long do you dip your corals? Thank you for sharing your pics.

Thank you. The first one is called Diabolic Pacman:wildone: There is a close-up shot or 2 earlier in this thread.

The second is, I believe, a banana lokani. However, there are several species that look fairly similar, so this might be a yellow caroliniana (might be a better guess than lokani) or possibly even a suharsonoi (probably not as likely as the other 2). I really don't know, because my IDing skills are far less than ideal.

Awesome selection of corals Neil!! Let me know whenever you have any SPS frags, i would love to drive to davis from the east bay for some your awesome collections.

Awesome tank. Love the colours you are getting from the acros.

Which prodibio products are you dosing?
Bioptim? How often?
Biodigest? How often?
Reffbooster? How often?

Thanks.

Hi sahin,

I am no longer using prodibio products. I might certainly return to them, but for now, I have increased my water changes and am happy with the results. I feed a large bioload of fish very heavily and replace the water quickly to good results.

When I was using prodibio, I alternated 1 week biotim and next week biodigest. No reefbooster.

Thanks for the comments and have much enjoyed looking a your tank in the past as well!
