Appleton's east side Petland closed

There's an article in today's paper saying that the Petland on the east side closed this week. Didn't even make it a year. Too bad - they had at least SOME dry goods I'd occasionally need plus they were really good about special ordering things for me. The Petco over here is really weak and I'll pay shipping before heading to the mall area.

No closeout sale. Here's the blip from the paper:

Petland at 3329 Express Court in Appleton has closed. Calls to the franchise's headquarters in Chillicothe, Ohio, were not immediately returned.

Steve and Wendy Veith of Menasha opened the Appleton Petland in June.

When the store was contacted, an automated message noted that customers with questions should call the corporate office at 800-221-5935.

The message also noted the store closed for economic reasons.

there prices where high i thought. the dog prices where just crazy!

Really, I thought $40 for a MJ1200 was a pretty good deal...:eek1:

their prices were crazy and the treated their employs like crap for a nicer word My lil sis work their and they fired her because she couldnt push enough dogs

Don't be too sad, Petland pretty much IS a big box store. They have them all over.
